The hundred-year-old man's life has more or less spanned the twentieth century and his expertise in explosives has led him to meet some of the most influential figures of the century including Franco, Truman and Oppenheimer. Despite his eventful life he remains hungry for adventure, and rather than celebrate his centenary in an old folks'home with the press and the local digitaries spouting plaisantaries, he makes an escape bid by climbing through the window, and is soon up to his wrinkly neck in trouble as he becomes imbroigled in a fifty-million crown robbery, and has to flee from the local crime ring. History merges with fiction in this surprise package of the year, making for a bloody good read!
