Well worth the money 25 mars 2007
Par Radioman - Publié sur Amazon.com
I've had mine for about 3-4 years. You can pick up murmurs and crackles very easily with this model. Recently, I tried using my former stethoscope on patients (Sprague Rappaport), and WHOA!! I could barely hear anything!! (I had gotten spoiled by my Cards-III for the last few years without even knowing it!) Years ago, I was wondering how my classmates and residents (all of whom seemed to have the Cards-III) could hear murmurs and stuff, and I couldn't! As a resident now, I'm glad I own one. One day, I forgot my own Cards-III, and had to borrow a colleague's stethoscope (it was a Classic II SE). Even though her Classic II SE was also a Littman, I still couldn't hear as clearly through that, as I did the Cards-III.

On the downside, it is rather pricey. But I equate it to buying a good pair of glasses. In exchange for your money, you'll be able to hear a lot more.

One word. MAGNIFICENT! 9 avril 2015

I work in the SICU dept and after 10 years of fantastic service, my Littmann Cardiology II stethoscope magically disappeared a few weeks back during my shift. That unfortunate event left me with a choice to make. Do I spend the $$$ money again to replace Littmann Cardiology or do I look into other cardiology brand stethoscope as possible options? I decided that even though I loved my Littmann (which still worked perfectly after 10 years), I'd look into other choices. So after reading some reviews on other brands, I purchased a few cardiology stethoscopes. The stethoscopes I selected cost half as much as my original Littmann. Saving a little money is always a great thing when you can, right? However, after putting both brand x stethoscopes to the test @ work, it became very clear attempting to save money on a good solid stethoscope is not a place where you want to cut corners. Next day, I drove back to the nursing supply store & returned them. In the end, I decided the Littmann Cardiology III Stethoscope (this time in lemon/line) is again the perfect stethoscope for me. Afforable price point? NO. Superb quality medical device for the price? Absolutely! That said, there are so many things I love about my stethoscope. The gorgeous bright color and flexible tubing for starters. Next, I really appreciate the design stethoscope. The stethoscope is medium weight. The "27 inch tubing is the perfect length to work with. The length of the stethoscope & its medium weight provide a comfortable & secure feel on my neck/shoulders throughout my shift. And when you have a neck injury these things are appreciated. The gel like soft bud tips give a complete noise cancelling effect. The heart and breath sounds are very crisp and clear sounding resulting in more accurate assessments. All the positive things said about Littmann's are indeed true. I LOVE my stethoscope and I without hesitation recommend any class of Littmann stethoscope to all medical professionals in any area of specialty. Lastly, I suggest purchasing the Littmann stethoscope from Amazon as I did. Hands down, the price and customer service is always the best. Thx.

Cardiology III stethoscope 8 mai 2006

I loved the versatility of being able to switch from adult to pediatric just by rotating the stem of the chest piece. The quality of auscultation is good. The only problem is that the tubing got stiff after a couple of years and cracked after 7 years. Apparently a vinyl protector is a must with these stethoscopes.

Love it! 12 mars 2013

I made this a graduation gift to myself and it is amazing. I had the Lightweight before and had a very hard time hearing out of it. With this stethoscope I can finally hear!! The heart, lung, and bowel sounds are loud and clear. This is definitely the best purchase I have made towards my nursing career so far.

Awesome acoustics, but VERY heavy 5 décembre 2011
Par K. Starr - Publié sur Amazon.com
This steth is amazing when it comes to acoustics. Everything you want to listen to is crisp and clear. I often have my fellow nurses borrowing my stethoscope when they are listening for clicks and murmurs. I honestly don't know that you could find a better stethoscope that isn't electronic.

I find the soft ear pieces to be comfortable, but it did take a bit of stretching it out in the beginning to keep it from squeezing my head too much. Once it stretched out a bit, the tension has been great and applies just enough pressure to stay in my ears and create a good seal without me feeling like it is burrowing into my head.

Personally, I don't really use the tunable diaphragm. When I first got the stethoscope I attempted to use it and I never got the hang of it. I have an open bell on the smaller side and it works just fine for me.

The downside is that this is an incredibly heavy stethoscope. I can't wear this thing around my neck at all because my neck will start to ache in a short time. I feel like the constant pulling it in and out of my pockets coupled with constantly putting it down every where greatly increases the likelihood of it disappearing and means it is getting far dirtier than if I could just throw it around my neck.

Another feature of this stethoscope that i don't particularly care for is the stickiness of the tubing. I clean it several times a shift, but it always seems to have a tackiness that I don't care for. It is so tacky that it actually picks up lint and stray hair. I contacted Littmann about this and they stated that the material that the stethoscope is somewhat tacky due to the nature of the material.

This is a great stethoscope that has served me well, but am shopping for the Littmann Classic II S.E. as a replacement.
