Présentation de l'éditeur

Cairo, Egypt, 1953 - A secret sect calling itself the Brotherhood of the Caliphate splinters off from the Muslim Brotherhood as the storm clouds of revolution gather.

Louisville, KY, 1973 - Political power broker and multi-millionaire Aman Kazim's Derby contending thoroughbred is slaughtered just hours before the race.

Las Vegas, Nevada, 2004 - An unusual joint FBI/CIA operation goes horribly wrong as CIA agent Anna Starks vanishes in the glittering lights of sin city while attempting to track down a potential threat to the country.

Washington DC, 2005 - Zachariah Hardin, a politician with a mysterious past has reached the zenith of his power as the first foreign-born president.

From the back alleys of ancient Cairo, to the glitzy nightlife of Vegas, to the corridors of power in DC, Agent of Influence is the thriller ahead of the news cycle. Find out why reviewers are saying:
"A taut political thriller that moves with speed and agility." Kirkus Indie Reviews.
"This is one roller coaster ride readers won't want to get off." Foreword Clarion Reviews.
"tightly plotted...If you are into Muslim conspiracy theories this is a particularly timely book...There is a scene from the 1973 Secretariat win at the Derby that is worth the price of admission."
"I enjoyed this book as much as any Tom Clancy/Vince Flynn/Dan Brown/Ian Fleming novel." Amazon review.
Agent of Influence also made it to the second round of judging and was one of 2000 novels/manuscripts considered for the 2011 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award.

In 2003 the California recall election sparked an idea that turned Agent of Influence from a 50 page dead end to a full length thriller. Before there was a debate over a birth certificate there was Agent of Influence, the first novel from Russell Hamilton. A native of Louisville, KY, the book is an outgrowth of his travels, voracious reading habits, and fascination with history and foreign affairs. Imagine what semés impossible then make it believable. Hamilton weaves a tale that keeps you on the edge from begining to end.

1.0 étoiles sur 5 Very poorly edited 27 juin 2013

Interesting plot.

Very, very, poorly edited. So badly edited, in fact, that I started jotting down errors.

A character doesn't "wreck havoc;" he "wreaks havoc."

A character doesn't make a "hallow resolution;" he makes a "hollow resolution."

And an articulate character would not think that his "conscious was clear," but rather that his "conscience was clear."

If you have an original and well-developed story, you owe it to yourself to pay a professional editor to clean up your work -- especially if a sequel is on the horizon.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Excellent & Quick Read - Hard to Put Down 21 septembre 2009

I was lent a copy of this novel from a relative of the author and asked to provide my feedback as I am avid reader, particularly of political/military/espionage thrillers and could provide a comparison to some of the more popular titles that exist on the market. Bottom line: This is a well written book that captured me from the beginning all the way to end. I enjoyed this book as much as any Tom Clancy/Vince Flynn/Dan Brown/Ian Fleming novel. The characters he created were in depth and interesting. The author used a number of different places (in different time periods) which were vividly and accurately described (as I have been to a few of these places). I was given a bit of insight of when the author began writing this book, and I was amazed how pertinent the storyline was to the present political and global environment, particularly the circumstances and background of our current President. I was equally impressed with the research the author had done as he referenced many historical events and characters (particularly with the rise of radical Islamic beliefs and actions). This helped to make the plot more realistic and believable.

If you enjoy books by the authors I mentioned above, you would definitely enjoy this book. Thanks for the great read!

Many of the editing errors have been pointed out above..... but this one takes the cake:
"the pirouettes of Cairo's mosques" I think the author should know that mosques have minarets, not pirouettes!

A mistake such as that would earn one of my students a failing grade.

The back story sections are way too wordy. There are too many editing errors. And why, oh why, is the date of the terrorist attacks stated as 10/01/00? Why change that significant date? Just not compelling enough to finish.

This book was painful to read. I like the pseudo Manchurian candidate idea and had high hopes, but was disappointed. It felt like the author was getting paid by the word count and tried to make every sentence as long as possible. And then added another long, boring sentence just to twist the knife.

It was free when I downloaded it and I still feel cheated.
