Présentation de l'éditeur

Who Will Usher in Earth’s Final Days?
Are we living in the end times? Is it possible that the players depicted in the book of Revelation could be out in force today? And if they are, would you know how to recognize them?

In Agents of the Apocalypse, noted prophecy expert Dr. David Jeremiah does what no prophecy expert has done before. He explores the book of Revelation through the lens of its major players—the exiled, the martyrs, the elders, the victor, the king, the judge, the 144,000, the witnesses, the false prophet, and the beast.

One by one, Dr. Jeremiah delves into their individual personalities and motives, and the role that each plays in biblical prophecy. Then he provides readers with the critical clues and information needed to recognize their presence and power in the world today.

The stage is set, and the curtain is about to rise on Earth’s final act. Will you be ready?

Which of us, at some point in our lives, has not been inspired, challenged, or enthralled by a good story? It could be that story told by our mother when we were a young child or that thrilling story of knights and ladies we had read as a young adult. The truth is stories are a powerful means to communicate ideas, principles, and history in a manner which leaves a permanent impression.

The greatest story teller of all time was a king disguised as a carpenter who spoke in vivid parables which today, over 2000 years later, are still changing lives. One of the great truths about stories is they are best enjoyed and understood when viewed through the eyes of faith and innocence of youth.

In the spirit of the parable, Dr. David Jeremiah seeks to animate some of the heroes and villains of the Bible in his new book Agents of the Apocalypse. Almost like having two books in one, this book gives a fictional representation of Biblical personas and then explains the real Biblical facts behind the stories.

I think the book was a great idea with some truly great insights and vivid passages which will stick with you long after you've finished the last page, but there were also parts I felt were lacking.

Even though I disagree with some of Dr. Jeremiah's eschatology I think he explained his positions with clarity and skill. Frankly, his non-fiction side of the book was in many places more captivating and interesting than the fictional representations.

To be fair, the fiction side of the book felt forced in many places and the characters didn't grab you in the way a novel or short story normally does. I often found myself wondering when I was going to get back to Dr. Jeremiah's explanations of the facts behind the story.

Even though I wasn't crazy about the novel side of the book I enjoyed seeing the subject from Dr. Jeremiah's perspective. His last two chapters and the epilogue dealing with the return of Jesus, the judgment and the 1000 years reign were sobering, uplifting and ultimately hopeful. Overall I'm glad I read the book.

For the last twenty-years, there has been a slew of "apocalypse" or "end of times" fiction & non-fiction books being published. I have read a few of these books, including the Left Behind series. You don't have to be a believer to become interested in the book of Revelation, as I know a few non-believers that have read a few books on the "end of times."

Released last week to bookstores is Agents of the Apocalypse by Dr. David Jeremiah. It isn't his first book based on Revelation, but it is his first "end times" book that uses fictionalized stories "to drive the message of Revelation into the human heart." The author received assistance from Thomas Williams with the ten fictional stories - The Exile, The Martyrs, The 144,000, The Two Witnesses, The Dragon, The Beast from the Sea, The Beast from the Earth, The Victor, The King and The Judge. Each chapter is divided into two sections - the fictional story followed by "The Scripture Behind The Story."

With the use of fictional stories, the author is able to explain the main events that occurred in the Bible to believers and non-believers alike. This is also a great way to explain the meaning behind scriptures and tell the stories that contains the biblical prophecy.

With all the tabloids, cable news and news blogs, a person looking for real facts on the apocalypse will be really confused with all the misinterpretation of the Bible. Dr. David Jeremiah cleverly puts together an unique book that explains how the apocalypse was told in the scriptures. I have read a few other biblical prophecy non-fiction titles, but each book was based on the authors' point-of-views of what the apocalypse means to them. Overall, Agents of the Apocalypse is one of the better books written on the subject, which gives the truth to the readers.

This book in times past would have been labeled futuristic or prophetic, but today, it is literally current events, newspaper headlines and TV news alerts in the absolute. Some will not have the nerve to read it; some will rejoice to read it. Others will say, eventually, that no one ever told them about all this stuff. If there would have been ten stars above, I would have rated this book ten-plus. This author has captured the full scenario of "today". Betty Harman

Agents of the Apocalypse by Dr. David Jeremiah

Agents of the Apocalypse by Dr. David Jeremiah is a book written in a unique style. Dr. Jeremiah uses a fictional future historical account of the Tribulation period. Using this literary device, he reveals how the prophecies in the Bible could happen. After each chapter which describes a scene in the future, Dr. Jeremiah shows the Biblical passages which relate to that scene. In this section, he describes how the Bible prophesies events which will take place.

The book’s fictional narrative centers around a great leader named Judas Christopher. This British prime minister eventually takes control of the entire world after a world crisis. Through this crisis, Christopher seizes the opportunity for world domination. After signing a peace treaty with Israel to solve the Middle East crisis, he develops an economic and spiritual plan to unite the world under one government. The book follows a group of persecuted Christians during this time of tribulation until the return of Jesus Christ. At the end of the book, the fictional account shows how Jesus re-establishes His reign on Earth. This fictional account does a great job of showing the intrigue and motivations which would drive a man to do what Christopher does. At the same time, the account depicts the shift in world power and opinion very clearly. The chapters that show the struggle of Christians during the tribulation are also very realistic. It ends with a very plausible explanation about how Jesus Christ will return and set up His eternal kingdom.

Although I disagree with some of the scenarios that Dr. Jeremiah describes in his fictional portrayal of the end-times (especially his one-sentence comment that the United States Congress would so easily allow the Antichrist to annex the country), I applaud his insight and effort to make the Biblical passages come alive.

This fictional account is partnered with an equally researched section concerning Biblical prophecy. After each scene in the story, Dr. Jeremiah takes us to the Scriptures to show the basis of each scene. This part of the book is solid. One is not surprised as Dr. Jeremiah has written various books on Biblical prophecy and the end-times.

For someone who wants to know more about what the Bible says about the end-times, this is a great book. The person will benefit from the fictional account that is paired with the Biblical analysis.

Ok. I really liked it. I mostly read nonfiction. And was surprised when i received this book from a preorder and found that the stories were fictional (sort of short but good and keep your attention). But had actual scripture from revelation to backup the main points of the story. A different type of book for Dr Jeremiah.

I would buy it again.
