Présentation de l'éditeur

The Methuselans are back with a vengeance!
Premier Lahora unleashes the dreaded General Zom on the Galactics. The cybernetic general has subjugated almost seven thousand species. He hasn't lost a war in half a million years; with over two hundred thousand ships at his disposal Zom doesn't intend to allow the Galactics to be the first. Is Alexander up to the task? Has General Zom finally met his match in the audacious Terran Overlord?
Alexander has his hands full, but his greatest threat may come from his own people. It's not the Galactics; his former foes are firmly behind the Protector. It's Terra. While Alexander was exiled separatist elements rise in the leadership vacuum. Now, in the middle of the crisis some are actually aligning with the Methuselans! How can Alexander stop the most proficient destroyers in galactic history when his own Homeworld Terra is disintegrating in chaos?

Alexander is the BOMB!!! Tell that to some of those other RACES and try to let them figure that one out. ALSO thank you CA for give me books that I can pass on to My nieces and nephews. Even their kids love to chat about it as well. You happen to be one of the few really great AUTHORS that I do not mind passing on the titles of your books to others. Even though I am not by any means a prude or have problems of what others do. I do not wish to bring out certain subjects to all during a casual conversation with some of them as I do know their beliefs and views.

Thanks you for doing what you do. Not only that but doing well enough you do not have to get your language from the gutter to make it worth while.

Since I first read the Acension Wars trilogy, I have been addicted to reading your books.

This has been one of the most original ideas I have come across in a long time when it comes to the space opera genre. It does follow the same formula that you see, strong lead charactar overcoming insurmountable odds to lead the good guys to victory. Where this series excels is in the backstory, that is why I eager devoured Space Cadet and the Space Ranger books.

Having mentioned that I would like to say that those books are rife with spoilers for this series, so if you really follow this series I suggest reading those books as well.

Christopher, I just have a few requests:

- Please tie those spoilers in well....
- Explore the relationship between Alexander and Nazeera more, that was one of the best parts of the first book.
- Don't just kill him off, he saves the galaxy give him a happy ending (and it opens up his appearence in the other series)
- Somehow you should tie in Lone Pup to the series, you never say the planet it is set on, it could Paxtrinia (not sure if I spelled that right)
- Please don't wait until Spring 2013.

I really have enjoyed this series. The Author has managed to portray a great leader, in a ripping good yarn. That is really what I enjoy - a good bit of action and the hero winning out. Everything strings along nicely - so I'd recommend this series to anyone who enjoys action science fiction. Consistently found myself just settling with this book to enjoy the read - when other things needed attention!

This volume follows the same pattern as the other books in that Alexander tries to help his allies surmount an overwhelming numerical advantage using misdirection, misinformation, and superior tactics. As in the other novels his cleverness leads to mixed results and half the time his allies need to come and pull him out of the fire. On a positive note, this cloak and dagger stuff leads to a lot of action and you won't be bored with all the coups and assassination attempts going off.

After reading how the previous book ended I was eagerly awaiting an epic, culminating battle. I am now still awaiting, though not as eagerly, an epic, culminating battle. It wouldn't have been as disappointing if the space battles had been anywhere near as detailed and exciting as they had been in the Ascension Wars. Really, after the first foray all the subsequent space battles were pretty much glossed over... However, if close combat is your thing, this book has you covered.

The story definitely tries to play off your emotions. Lots of highs and lows. Just when you think it's all over something happens. It did feel a bit rushed though. You never feel the strategy to eliminate the Methuselans failed, because there never seemed to be one in the first place. The politicians appeared to capitulate too easily, the populace was depressingly petty, the religious take seemed a bit preachy and narrow-minded. It could have been better, but as entertaining popcorn reading it was still pretty good. Don't think too hard about the main character's logic and just revel in the fast-paced, high action setting.
