Présentation de l'éditeur

All New People is a slick, lively and contemporary comedy written by award-winning screenwriter and well-known actor Zach Braff.
The dead of winter, Long Beach Island, New Jersey, Charlie, has hit rock bottom. Away from the rest of the world, this perfect escape is interrupted by a motley parade of misfits who show up and change his plans. A hired beauty, a fireman, and an eccentric British real estate agent desperately trying to stay in the country all suddenly find themselves tangled together in a beach house where the mood is anything but sunny.
This pithy piece portrays a scenario of attempted suicide with mordant humour, where a basis of social alienation leads to unexpected connections. The richly-drawn characters are quick-witted and narcissistic yet self-aware and the dialogue is fluid and witty.
All New People is centred around a clever concept which works as a catalyst for both angst-fuelled scrutiny and morbid humour.

Solid debut. 15 juin 2013
Par Christopher Hendrix - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
Zach Braff is still learning the ropes when it comes to writing for the theatre. His first effort, All New People, is a very strong debut. I was surprised at Braff's ability to draw on comedic situations from multiple perspectives so early on in his playwriting career. Knowing what I know about his writing for other mediums (he wrote/co-wrote and directed multiple episodes of "Scrubs," as well as the wonderful gem of a film Garden State), I shouldn't have been surprised, but it's always nice feel so comfortable with a playwright and his/her work so early on.

All New People is one of those straight off the page, laugh out loud scripts. You don't need much characterization for the words to jump to life, which is both a blessing and a curse to some actors. I would like to have seen this play stretched a bit more (it is a straight through one-act, no intermission), and for Braff to give a bit more attention to his protagonist Charlie. Develop his character, as opposed to sticking him on the stage to be the butt of early jokes, as well as a talking point for Braff's sometimes roaming premise. In due time. I have faith he'll work out the kinks.

Overall: All New People is a strong first outing. Laugh out loud. Fans of Zach Braff will savor it: and for us theatre folk, hopefully there's more to come.

This script is a great, easy read with some great characters. Zach Braff captures the voices of each member of his ensemble so clearly. This script pushes boundaries and unfolds nicely and tidily as a great script should. I totally recommend this!
Love Zach Braff's stuff... love this, too! 7 janvier 2014

I enjoyed this play and it was a very quick read. While the read was quick like most good theatre there is a lot of subtext to consider and things to think about that exist beyond the exact words written on the page.

I always like the way Braff blends drama and comedy and this had nice elements of both.
Definitely recommend to people who enjoy reading plays and to those who maybe haven't tried reading plays.
Had to push to finish. 7 décembre 2013

A few, maybe two, poignant moments. Characters are boring and unoriginal and nobody I really would care to hear for two hours.

Great screenplay. This was fun and exciting. A perfect blend of humor and drama. The narration is very descriptive. Good night.
