Grade 1-3-Colorful, child-friendly, watercolor paintings take readers step-by-step through 20 easy crafts. The materials needed are easy to find and are shown at the beginning of each spread. Most projects involve cutting and gluing. Some also require simple drawing and hand lettering a message. None of the activities appear in Ross's Crafts for Valentine's Day (Millbrook, 1995). This book is not quite as attractive as the author's Crafts to Make in the Winter (Millbrook, 1999), but it does have an artistic, child-focused approach that's missing in Sharon Dunn Umnik's 175 Easy-to-Do Valentine Crafts (Boyds Mills, 2002) and Sheri Brownrigg's Hearts and Crafts (Tricycle, 1995; o.p.). Children looking for new ideas need look no further.
