Cute read! 9 novembre 2012
Par Candy @ So little time... - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Format Kindle
Marty Peters hates her job! She is an accountant, but what she really wants to do is write. While taking the train to work, Marty finds a backpack. Unable to find the owner she looks inside and finds a journal. The journal contains an amazing screen play called Until Tomorrow. One of the accounts she handles is for Theodore McKenzie, the most sought after producer in Hollywood. The journal ends up the hands of McKenzie, and he loves it and wants to produce it. Everyone thinks that Marty wrote it, but soon the real author shows up looking for it. Will Marty give it back to him or will she keep it as her own?

Marty keeps getting herself deeper and deeper into trouble with this screen play. She never actually says the screen play is hers, but everyone assumes that it is, and she never tells them otherwise. When Marty does the right thing and returns the journal to its rightful owner, Egan Riley, she doesn't know her good friend, Becca, has made a copy of it, and has sent it over to McKenzie's office.

I love Egan! Egan is a gorgeous man! You know the type, tall, dark and handsome, and a gentleman to boot! He tells Marty he's looking for someone real, an honest girl, and all the while she is lying to him.

I like the relationship Marty has with McKenzie. It's kind of strange, but he really helps her figure out what to do with her life, and helps her get out of the rut she is in. He puts her in these situations where she has to figure out what is best for everyone, but most importantly, what's best for her. For example, McKenzie puts it on her shoulders to decide whether he is going to stay with the firm she works for or leave. If he leaves she loses her job. What appears to be an impossible position to be in, turns into an amazing position, one where she holds all the power.

During the beginning of the story, Marty seems to jabber on a bit too much for me. Plus, there were a few times I wanted to yell at her for not just telling the truth, but in the end she learns some valuable lessons, and finally figures out what she wants to do with her life.

I really enjoyed reading And The Winner Is..., and I love the Pride and Prejudice references in the story! If you're looking for a humorous, fun read I think you will like And The Winner Is...

I received a copy of And The Winner Is... from the author for my honest review.

Unique Storytelling 31 juillet 2013

What I enjoyed most about And the Winner Is.. by Erin Brady was the unique pauses in the story in which other characters give their opinion of a situation. While the story is told from the point-of-view of the main character, Marty Peters, other characters give their account of Marty and her rise to fame. This is a great book to bring along to read during your lunch hour or over the weekend. Brady once again creates a feel good storyline with loveable characters. Be sure to read her other book, The Shopping Swap, for even more entertainment.

An upbeat novel about chasing dreams 12 février 2013
Par BestChickLit.com - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
This is an upbeat novel about chasing dreams and working out what you really want in life. Like many people Marty has chosen the security of a well-paid job over the very scary world of trying to achieve a dream. Erin Brady's novel shows you that this needn't be the case, but those who want success are going to have to be honest with themselves and really work for it. The format is very interesting and makes the story all the more vibrant.

Brady has created some very interesting characters here, my favourites being Marty's best friend, Becca, the love of her life, Egan and the prestigious Teddy McKenzie. The only problem was that I felt no sympathy for the main character and would actually go so far as to say that I didn't like her. Any writer who puts their heart and soul into a book would never dream of stealing someone's work and taking the credit for it. Marty is a nice enough girl, but quite judgemental and ditsy and I don't honestly believe that she learned anything by the end of the novel. She gained everything she wanted and nothing she deserved. If the book was written from the point of view of Becca I think it would be a more interesting read and gain the reader's sympathy. That being said, this is a good story that will hopefully inspire any readers who are lost in the career world, trying to find their own niche.

This book kept me in stitches & found myself laughing out loud or having to read excerpts to my husband or friend. My friend immediately downloaded so she could have some good laughs too. I'll look for some more Marty Peters by Erin Brady!!

Erin always delights 16 avril 2015

Another big hit by Erin Brady. Her novels are famous for the heroine you have to root for, Marty Peters is no different. She is this smart, average, single New York City girl. Most woman in New York are always looking for three things; an apartment, a job, and a boyfriend. Marty has an apartment, but it's not in the city where she really wants to live, she has a job but it's not the job she really wants. The dream job and the perfect boyfriend are dropped in her hand but she has choose between them. It appears she can't have both or can she? Marty's story is a great page turner that keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering how will she get through this, who will get in her way this time or who will actually help her.

I have read a few Erin Brady novels, with a few more already on my Kindle waiting for me. She gets better and better.
