L'aventure "Anjunadeep" continue.

I have both of the previous Anjunadeep albums while both are good this one is great. The tracks the mood the flow and the mixing are all top notch. James Grant and Jaytech did a masterful job of compiling the perfect tracks for this album and the mixing is seamless with every transition breaking at the right spot. This is a wonderful headphone mix that will make you just drift away into a relaxed state of mind as each track melts with the next. This album surpassed all my expectations and I'm already looking forward to volume four.

HASH(0x97381fb4) étoiles sur 5 Oozes class - the DEEPEST Anjuna release yet? 22 mars 2011
Par Johnny Myo - Publié sur Amazon.com

On the sleeve notes for this CD it's explained that this collection is the third annual compilation on the Anjunadeep imprint - well, it feels as though they're knocking them out a bit quicker than that, but it could just be that the quality of the music is so good that a "fix" of it holds my attention for a lot longer than anything else out there.

After just a few listens, there don't seem to be the obvious tracks that shout "Tune!" as on the previous two outings - no Gold Rush, Murder Weapon, Disco Belle or DNA, for example - and whether the seamlessness of the mixes is down to a more homogenous pool of available material or even slicker mixing by Jaytech and James Grant is a moot point.

This time round, I think it's the first CD - mixed by James Grant - that has the edge, as it really builds up into a concentrated pitch of just breathtaking tracks towards its climax - Soundprank, Paul Keeley [stunning!], Komytea, and Spooky all serving up the goods (and James Grant's inclusion of the Sasha Involver mix of Belong works even better in this context - in fact, with a new bouncy bassline courtesy of Prankster, it jumps right out at you). Interestingly, JG's done here with Underworld what he did with BT's Flaming June on Anjunadeep 02 - tweaking Two Months Off to revive it for a deeper vibe. And CD1 is so expertly mixed that I glanced at my CD player at one point to find it was already on to track 5, rather than the expected track 3.

I was a little skeptical that rebooting By All Means (by Boom Jinx and Andrew Mayer) might seem a bit premature, but not only is the mighty Solarity's reworking very different from the original (oh, how I'm praying for an artist album release by Solarity), but I've a feeling it's going to be one of those tracks that reveals more with each listen.

This might be the case with the whole of Jaytech's second disc, so I'll just keep having to plug away with it. It certainly seems to have a lot more of an 80s vibe in places - quite an "analogue" sort of a sound and, while there are a few moments to keep the house-heads happy, I'm not sure it packs enough energy for the (current) floor. Although, having said that, I daresay Jaytech knows better, and surely everyone's fond of Japanese Schoolgirls - as well as his own cut, Djembe ;o)

Whatever, on an iPod or at home it's still great.

I've been into electronic music for well over a decade now, at first idly perbrowsing artists from the likes of BT to Solar Fields. It wasn't until I discovered the Anjunabeats family that I really felt a passion inside being evoked, however, and as I stuck with the boys over the years they eventually came to form the Anjunadeep label. Which, as it turns out, is slick listening and the house sound their labelmembers produce is by far my favorite sound of music anywhere out there. I only wish I could get more of it here on floors in the U.S.

That being said, I was blown away by how awesome the first Anjunadeep mix was, Anjunadeep, Vol. 1, particularly Murder Weapon, with its engrossing grooves that I can literally play out speakers to no end. That CD following up Jaytech's Everything Is Ok, I was convinced that progressive house Anjunadeep-style was amazing. I was nervous that the second release of the Anjunadeep mix just wouldn't hold a candle to the first, but after seeing it was going to be mixed by Mr. Jimbo Cayzer and James Grant I lost most of those doubts, and, getting my hands upon it and listening to it over time, found the first half of the first CD to be gorgeous, a well-done mix that seamlessly fades from Moth through Disco Belle (especially Lassoo).

I saw rumors on the internet that the third edition was going to be mixed in part by the 16 Bit Lolitas and I just about had a heart attack (the good kind). But as the release drew near I saw that it was the prior duo back at it again, and getting my hands on the music I have to say I am not disappointed whatsoever. In fact, again, the first CD, Mr. Grant's mix, is unbelievably strong. The flow of Micrsh into Deep Style is one of the smoothest transitions I have experienced, not since the likes of Electronic Architecture have I seen such a great track selection/mixing combination... with a fantastic deep undertone too, at least on the first tracks from CD1. Maybe not going to be pounding all the dancefloors, but I'd go to a club playing anything from here any day.

The one track that stood out to me as most interesting is the retouch of Two Months Off, a *very* catchy and interesting song from the duo Underworld back in 2002, given a bit of the Anjunadeep flair. Its pulses and swells are incredible, almost moving, and its inclusion on this mix was a great decision. Regatta by Michael Cassette is also a beautiful song, very interesting and unique in much the same way (to me) that Pacific by Oliver Smith was on the Anjunabeats Vol. 7 CD1. With a bit of listening I've found that none of the tracks on this disc strike me as weak, they are all awesome, wonderful, beautiful pieces and I think both Jimbo and Grant did a fantastic job. Ultimately, to say that this set of music is worth the price is a drastic understatement.

HASH(0x973835e8) étoiles sur 5 AnjunnaDeep is rocking 80s techno style! 7 juin 2011
Par Travis Godbold - Publié sur Amazon.com

I liked this album. Very groovy. Many of the songs reminded me of the synthesizer music played in the background of early 80s science shows on learning channels, like the ones documenting space travel, astronomy, and the anatomy of the human body, yet in this album the tunes are mixed into a dance rhythm, makes for smooth trance and good dance music. It was pretty cool.

My favorite is the track: interstellar. Interstellar, midway into the track, has a great dance rhythm with a kind of mid 80s electronica club riff, makes me think of 1986 mojos with spunky hair and also big buff conan dudes in raider shirts and long hair dancing under a disco ball.

Also like: ((By All Means)) "Boom Jinx & Andrew Bayer" Reminds me of relationships!! Goodday! I'm happy in love with someone, then it's goodbye. ): ): The lyrics: "Goodday!!!Good...): G-o-o-d (: Goodbye ):, repeat 9 times in the song, makes me think the vocalist has been in 9 relationships.

Also like, Spooky, Belong, with its tune that sounds very like Russian trance. It reminds me of Crimea in the summertime, a place I love for its beauty and romance. The vibe is so mellow and euphoric, like Crimea in the summertime, and throughout the song it makes me imagine myself walking the limestone cliffs, aching for a faraway love.

5 thumbs up for a smooth trance album.

HASH(0x9738393c) étoiles sur 5 Best Anjunadeep thus far! 29 octobre 2011
Par K. Bradford - Publié sur Amazon.com

I've been a fan of Anjunabeats from pretty much when I first got into trance a few years back, and this is probably my favorite Anjunabeats/Anjunadeep release. The only one that comes closed is Anjunabeats Vol. 7, but besides that, there is just no comparison. Absolutely awesome!

In my opinion the first disc is better than the first, but I would still easily give the second disc a five star rating (the first just deserves six stars!). The track flow could not be better, and the album just oozes greatness. I can't think of better background music for anything except for a workout since the music is generally laid back.

Amazing release with some awesome tracks, mixed by a great duo. HIGHLY recommended to anyone.
