Présentation de l'éditeur

Antitype is the prequel to acclaimed novels, Archetype and Prototype.

Before Emma appears in their lives, two men face four months that will change their lives forever. One has dreams outside Richmond and away from his family business. The other wants to make the business his only focus. In one summer, outside forces drive them both to make brash and irrevocable decisions that will render them at once supremely powerful yet emotionally vulnerable. How can these peers with identical pasts, as well as seemingly identical futures, reach a threshold where only one escapes with his integrity intact?

I read ARCHETYPE by M. D. Waters so quick that I couldn't wait to get my hands on this novella. I'm a HUGE lover of stories in the male POV, especially when the original story is in the heroine's POV. I love getting a deeper understanding of the hero and what makes him tick. The beauty here though, is you get not only one, but TWO male POVs!

This is told from Declan and Noah's POV laid out over a few months, which doesn't seem like a long time, but what happens to both of these men during that summer is life changing. And I mean life changing. It can be read as a standalone, but it's much better as a complementary story to ARCHETYPE. It just helps piece more of the puzzle together. It enhances it so much more. It’s great for anyone who has read ARCHETYPE or is thinking about reading it. If you've read it, then it's going to give you a great understanding of why Declan and Noah are the way they are in ARCHETYPE. But if you haven't read ARCHETYPE yet, then this novella is a great introduction into how they ended up crossing paths with Emma. It's also a great intro to Waters' unique and captivating writing style.

I can’t say enough about M.D. Waters’ writing. I was hooked from ARCHETYPE and I’ll continue to be hooked. Her phrasing and the way she paints a picture is truly a joy to read. I would recommend this story to anyone wanting to get lost for a few hours with a good story, a well-thought-out plot, and characters so real you want to reach out and touch them.

1) For anyone who's read Archetype: this prequel will give you a deeper glimpse into the complex men of Archetype. It will satisfy some of the questions you HAD to ask yourself about Declan and Noah. How did they become the men they are?? Here is your answer. And it's brilliant. Written in their alternating POV's. Waters provides many AHA moments for readers, using symbols from the Archetype storyline to link the books and essences of the characters.

2) For anyone who hasn't read Archetype: this prequel is a perfect starting point for the series. The book was carefully created to offer no spoilers to Archetype. What it will do is suck you into the complicated world these characters share and have you chomping at the bit to read the next two books.

Highly recommended

If you haven't read Archetype (book 1) or Prototype (book 2) you need to ASAP!! I usually don't enjoy short novellas about the past because I feel like I know what happened already and I know where the characters are in the present. But this wasn't the case with Antitype. This gave me a new perspective about the characters and I loved it! Beautifully written and addicting you won't want to miss out!

This is a MUST read for fans of the Archtype and Prototype! This is a short story set in the months prior to the raid that freed Emma and is told from the perspective of Noah and Declan. My only complaint is that it is so short. I loved being in each of these men’s head and feel that we get a better understanding of how these men became who they are. We also get a better idea of what all is wrong with this world and society. Short answer: Men with unparalleled and unchecked power run amok. This story answered a lot of questions I had after reading Prototype, but also left me wanting even more. I SO want to see this society changed!

I’m still a fan of Declan, and am heartbroken to learn of how he became the bad guy for this series. I am almost as outraged for what happen to him as to what it is like for females living in this world. He was controlled and manipulated as much as they were. Then there is Noah. I like him even more now that I’ve learned so much about him. It was also interesting to meet so many other members of his family. It would be interesting to follow their lives for a while as well. I think good things could be seen from them too.

This book sparks a lot of outrage in me for the way some of the characters are treated, hell how one half of the human species is treated. I hope Ms. Waters continues and finds a way to liberate the female population in the world she created. I so want to be there when the men that created these rules for face justice for what they have created.

Great read! Answers many questions and gives us a perspective of what life is like that we don’t get from the other two books.
