Handy small atlas of Quebec 8 août 2012

The picture shown for this item is not what I received. I received the French version - perhaps the pictures are different. I kept the product figuring I needed to impress my grandchildren and wife with my knowledge of French!

One does not have to be at all fluent in reading French for this product to be useful, especially when it is used along side a travel map. This atlas is small (about 5 in. X 7 in.) which has the obvious advantage that is can easily be stored. There are 72 pages of maps with a locator index at the front of the atlas. The pages are relatively easy to read, as the towns are all in bold print. There are separate pages for maps with major arteries shown for Gatineau-Ottawa, Montreal, Sherbrooke and Ville de Quebec. You will need a magnifying glass for the index and more detailed city maps if you are driving within the larger cities.

Might as well have bought a folding map 4 mai 2013

Seriously, I bought this because I didn't want to pay for GPS in Canada and because I wanted to take some serious backroads to see more of beautiful Quebec.

When I received this, I was majorly disappointed. Basically, this is a folding map cut up into smaller pieces (which makes it even more annoying because you have to then find the next page you're on to see that the road you want to go on isn't on this map.

Luckily, after receiving this, I got a friend to lend me their GPS. Don't waste your time with this one, unless you just like aggravation. Not even a decent city map in this.
