FBI Most Wanted terrorist leader Osama bin Laden is a keen Arsenal fan. The beardy cave-dweller spent three months in London in 1994 recruiting followers and financial support for his terrorist activities. During his visit he went to see Arsenal play four times, and bought replica home shirts for his sons. He was said to have told friends he had never seen passion like that of football fans. Then, when plans were announced to extradite him to Saudi Arabia, bin Laden fled to the Sudan. In 2001, Arsenal officials wisely eliminated the possibility of bin Laden popping back to England to catch an Arsenal home match, by issuing a statement saying that the terrorist would no longer be welcome at Highbury.
