"Thieves' Highway (1949) ... Jules Dassin ... Criterion Collection (2005)", 14 décembre 2010
The Criterion Collection presents "THIEVES' HIGHWAY" (10 October 1949) (94 min/B&W) (Fully Restored/Dolby Digitally Remastered) -- A war-veteran-turned-truck driver attempts to avenge the crippling and robbing of his father at the hands of a crocked produce dealer in San Francisco --- Masterfully directed by Jules Dassin with a script by A. I. Bezzerides (who also wrote the novel)
Some tense scenes between Conte and Cobb, doesn't get any better than this with two pro-actors trading jabs.
