I am a follower of the TV series since the beginning , but have not purchased books or comics having been disappointed by other book tie ins such as Babylon Five.I purchased this book with no great expectation and so I was not really disappointed. The stories dragged and were too long. All of the stories had good premises, the characters were written true, but the plots just went on and on. All would have made much more riveting short stories. I will probably not purschase BSG books in the future unless the volume is very favorably reviewed. I have the nonfiction books, "So Say We All," "Cylons In America,"and "BSG and Philosophy" x2. I enjoyed them and hope that there are other books like these when the series finishes it's run in a few short weeks.

I wanted to like this but the constant grammar and typographical errors coupled with the wholesale ignoring of established canon (when the books were published) is something that is too difficult to overlook. These stories could have been really epic, but they read like poorly planned fan fiction with known characters there more to sell it than anything. In the first book, if Adama, Tigh, and Galatica had been replaced with other characters and a different battlestar, it would have been a heck of a book. IMO, it would have been a great vehicle to explore some of Cain's early formative years in the Fleet.

I wish I had bought the dead tree version so I could at least sell it back to Amazon or trade it in at the used bookstore.

This book contains THREE novels based on the BSG universe.

In The Cylons' Secret, by Craig Shaw Gardner, a ship, scavenging the outer settlements for valuable Cylon technologies after the first human-Cylon war, stumbles on a super-secret scientific outpost beyond charted space. Mere hours later, Battlestar Galactica receives a one-word distress call from the scavenging ship: "Cylons," causing the young Colonel William Adama to investigate.

Sagittarius Is Bleeding, by Peter David, concerns President Laura Roslin, whose prophetic dreams have infused her people with hope that they will find Earth, humanity's cradle. But her new dreams of a galaxy overrun by the Cylons disturb her even as they energize an extremist political group. The threat of violent revolt puts Roslin at personal risk and endangers the fleet.

In Unity by Steven Harper, Peter Attis, a rock star adored by all the fleet, including Starbuck, has recently been rescued from a Cylon prison ship. But after his first post-return concert, crewmembers are stricken by a strange malady that threatens to lay the fleet open to Cylon attack.

Buy this collection rather than the novels separately....it's a steal! I recommend it to BSG fans for it makes for some good reading!
