In 2010, Entrepreneur Magazine listed personal and private chefs as one of the fastest growing businesses in the country, with more than 300,000 clients expected in the next 5 years.

You love being a chef, but what don't you love? The non-stop pace that goes hand-in-hand with restaurant life? Getting into the industry requires more than being a good cook: you need to have an outgoing personality and personal flair, a wide variety of clients, and know how to remain organized and structured in your daily life as a private chef.

The Best Book On How To Become A Private Chef is guaranteed to get you on your way to a successful career in the private chef industry.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Great guide - practical and easy to read 17 octobre 2011

This book is a terrific resource and is highly recommended for those who are considering being a private chef. It answers all the questions you might ask if you had the opportunity to sit down with a successful private chef. Chef Tishman provides advice and relevant personal examples in the course of covering the basics of being a private chef. The tips are especially valuable so that you can hit the ground running and avoid making novice mistakes in your career. For example, Chef Tishman describes how he manages his correspondence into categories such as client leads to contact, booked clients, etc. in order to streamline his workflow and stay organized. The book is full of other practical tips to help you succeed early on.

Overall, the book is direct, easy to read, informative and practical. I found it to be really helpful in getting a handle on what being a private chef entails, and didn't need to dig through hundreds of pages of fluff that you might find in other books to get what I was looking for.

2.0 étoiles sur 5 Can you call this a "book"? 12 janvier 2014

The "book" is about 60 pages, maybe 30 if you remove how many times it repeats itself word-for-word. Its more like a college report overview of being a personal chef.

The book was very vague. There was very little specifics on what you need to start being a personal chef, other than some generic, "are you good at X? do you not like Y? then being a private chef is for you!" and didn't go much past that. The book was not information dense at all.

I would not recommend this if you are seriously wanting to know the ins and outs of being a private chef.

Not really a book. Closer to a pamphlet.
