I am not in the Sales Field directly, but as the book explains, we are all doing some sort of selling in our jobs and in life.

The Introduction starts with an overview of the differences between people in sales positions and those that are in non-sales positions. In either case you are selling something whether you view it that way or not. The book defines three major components to sales which are: Preparation, Personality and Performance.

The discussion in the book is focused around these three components and all 50 Tips fall into one of the three components. For each of the 50 Tips the book is well organized for reading and understanding the point of the tip and how to improve your skill set based on the tip. As a "bonus" for each tip the author, Scott Welle, includes an "Outperforming Sales Tip".

Mr. Welle is the author of a book titled Outperform The Norm. That book is obviously performance related and it ties in well with this book. Outperform The Norm is not required to be able to get a great deal out of this book.

I would recommend this book to sales personnel and it would be beneficial to all business and professional people. Many of these tips cross into different fields and there are general tips that would benefit anyone that wants to improve their success rate at accomplishing goals.

There are actually 51 tips. I will leave that tip for when you are reading the book.

This book is not only a book to help you improve your sales skills, but its also a self-improvement book. The tips are classic, but the part that's distinctive is his section after all the tips - "outperforming sales tips", very informative, easy to understand and implement. The book is straightforward, honest, insightful, just the information you need to help you improve your overall sales skills. And even if you are not in a sales related field. like he says, we are all doing some kind of selling in our everyday life. Tips #38, 42 were killer. This is a gem of a book.

When I am conducting job interviews to fill sales positions, one of the questions I ask is "What book have you most recently added to your personal success library?" Some candidates respond to that question with a glazed "deer in the headlights" look. Others know what I am talking about. And that is: if you take your career as a salesperson seriously, you are constantly finding ways to educate yourself so you can be more effective and successful in your chosen field. If you have a good answer to that question, I will have a positive impression of your professionalism. And citing this book is a good answer to my question.

Which is a long way to get to saying that, if you consider yourself a professional salesperson you should add this book to your personal success library, read it, and learn the information.

BTW, when reading this book, you will discover some nice little surprises, for example: la link to a video about the 5 things ALL great salespeople do differently.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book by Scott Welle, I have some of his other books and I love the way he writes it's as if he is narrating to you while you read. I am not in the direct line of selling but as described in the book we all sell in our everyday lives so this book is of value to EVERYONE! I have also recommended it to a very good friend of mine who is a sales person and she loves it so far! Highly recommended to all, especially those in the sales field.

I bought this book because I am a service provider and I needed some tips to improve my services. This book has great tips, from the very basicas ones as how to dress and speak, to having the right mind set, knowing your product and client in order to be able to provide the best sevrice and outperform sales.
