This is Book 2 in a series of 5 full length, dramatic, sexy, and addictive paranormal romantic suspense stories, revolving around the lives of contemporary Lycans. There's a lot of heart ache, with enough humor so you don't want to kill yourself. They could be stand alones, but have connecting characters and a continuing story line, and should be read from the beginning. I do wish authors would number their books, and my thanks to reviewer Carole for putting them in order.
Eve is an artist, working in a bustling city. She is also a Fae, and when her "Gift" kicks in, she is completely over-whelmed. She leaves the city and rents a cabin in the woods, hoping the solitude will help her sort out her new-found abilities.
Rafe is a Werewolf and owns the cabin in the woods. He's not happy about renting, but needs the income to renovate his property. Eve is unaware that Lycans exist, and he needs to make sure she never finds out. To make things worse, a rogue wolf has invaded his territory!
I'm going to be vague about this next part, because I don't want to give anything away, but for those of you who have read the first two books, the person we have all worried about, gets dealt with later on in the series. Whew!
Some of the other books got a little caught up in too much detail, and I skimmed over parts of them. Eg: If you get stuck in a cave, get in, get out, get on with the story. And I have a complaint about The Keeping. There was absolutely no need to kill off a certain character. It was not intricate to the plot, and all it did was make me feel bad. Please, Nicky, do not do that again.
I chose to write a review about Betrayed because it is fast paced, with a great blend of action, dialogue, and romance. I'm so wrapped up with these damned wolves, I can't wait for the next book to come out!
