As Good as it gets: the definitive analysis of the ET issue? 20 juin 2010
Par The Guardian - Publié sur
Format: Relié
"Beyond Top Secret - the worldwide UFO Security Threat" ("BTS" for short) published in 1996 is an updated, revised and extended version of "Above Top Secret", Timothy Good's 1987 classic which brought into the public domain for the first time substantial evidence of the secret management of the ET/UFO issue by governments around the world, and broke through to the mainstream. A good case can be made for BTS as the deepest, most thorough and revealing analysis of the UFO issue ever published. If you are interested in this bizarre subject and you have never read this book, then you should.

The book divides into three main sections:

1. A 100-page examination of the ET/UFO phenomenon in the UK, with plenty of cases and defence/national security issues explored in detail; how the UFO problem has been managed by various organs of government and the armed services, and an examination of the the Rendlesham Forest incident in December 1980

2. A significant international section containing chapters on France, Italy, Spain and Portugal, Australia and New Zealand, Canada, China and the Soviet Union, and an informed examination of how the problem is managed by Defence Intelligence Agencies around the world

3. The USA - the most interesting section with an examination of INTEL agencies' activities relating to the phenomenon and the disinformation game, including the notorious MJ-12 documents. A chapter on Roswell is included and most revealing of all, evidence about retrieved alien vehicles and the bodies of ETs stored at various locations. If you think this sounds far-fetched, read this long section and examine Tim Good's substantial body of evidence before coming to judgment: there's a lot more than just the testimony of Bob Lazar

BTS has a more flowing narrative style than the earlier ATS, and the long catalogue of meticulously documented encounters is less dominant. Fewer and newer encounters are analysed in greater depth and at greater length (including some revealing Chinese and Russian cases), which makes for easier and more absorbing reading.

The enormously complex political issue of disclosure, and why our visitors choose to behave in the elusive manner they do, is explored at length in a final chapter. It's no secret that Mr. Good believes from his long research that we are being visited by different groups of ETs who have differing agendas, that none of them favour major societal disclosure of their presence and some groups are covert and secretive for a reason. With his close connections to the world's intelligence communities and personal knowledge of the management of the ET issue by elements inside the US military, the author does not see official "disclosure" of the ET presence as imminent, or as desirable.

In the original ATS, facsimiles of all FOIA-released and other documents were collected together in 100+ pages of appendices. In BTS they are in the main narrative of each chapter where relevant, so the page-count is 540 - quite a tome. Get an original hardcover copy if you can: this is one of the most important books you'll ever read, so you might as well get a good one. Five stars, unreservedly.

Enough credible reports, facts and interviews to sway any non believer in the subject. If you are interested in UFO's this is one of the "must have" books, along with any and all the other books on the subject written by Timothy Good. He is the undisputed king of ufo investigators and a wonderful author as well. The only downside of this book is that it can be a bit long-winded at times but that shouldnt deter you from reading it. It is a fantastic book!

Mr. Good is in my opinion far and away one of the top researchers in this field. If you doubt the existence of these phenomena, then read this book. He has done extensive research around the world. His presentation is lucid, logical and is extremely well notated - backed up by many official documents from the various agencies and governments around the world.
This and his several other books that address this subject provide irrefutable proof that the objects are real; that we are part of a vast universe of intelligent life.
Only the top 1% will determine what we get to know. 2 juillet 2014
