Présentation de l'éditeur

"To whom are you taking her?" Merrill asked, uncharacteristically curious.

"Dragon," Griffin grinned. I stared at Griffin, my mouth surely open in surprise. Dragon? There was somebody named Dragon? That didn't sound promising. Who named their kid Dragon?

Xenides has witnessed Lissa's talents first-hand and now he is desperate to find her. After all, under his compulsion, Lissa can topple governments and bring any race to its knees.

Wlodek understands Xenides' motives all too well. As a result, he looks to hide Lissa in perhaps the most unusual place of all....

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Good writing but I have a problem with the heroine 26 octobre 2011

I like the way the author writes, and there are many things I like about Lissa, but it drives me crazy how she can still be nice to and apparently attracted to these manipulative, controlling, and dominating men. She does not appear to have any personal boundaries. These guys abuse her emotionally and in the case of one, physically, and then they are kissing her and she is "trying to push him away, but he just kisses her hand." Geez.

I like her continued growth and development, but it seems like every male in the world talks down to her, calling her my little girl. Maybe it is because she does not make them respect her personal space.

And the whole sexual sharing that this particular book implies is going to happen is disappointing too....

Not sure if I will read any more by this author...

2.0 étoiles sur 5 I am done with the series 4 novembre 2011

I enjoyed the first book in this series so I continued to read the series even as I became more disenchanted with the characters and plotline. This has finally done it for me. I really thought that the main female character would continue to grow in both her vampire strengths AND her individual strengths. Instead the male characters who are supposed to care for her continue to ignore her strengths/feelings/opinions/etc. and just treat her like an indentured servant. Furthermore she gets really angry and then forgives them after "pouting" for a few minutes. Really??? Someone attempts to take away your free will and one chapter later you climb into his lap and, or bed?? This character needs to develop some self-worth.

I do not write too many reviews but I do read a lot of book and I hope to warn potential buyers and plead with the author to re-think her portrayal of this protagonist. There was so much potential for this character when she first appeared that has completely failed to materialize.

1.0 étoiles sur 5 Too much of a Harem and a Jumble Mess 6 novembre 2011

This series has totally deteriorated for me. It was bad enough when it was three guys now it is like the whole freaking male population.
Then, you add in all the new characters and new species and this series is a jumble mess in my opinion.

Hey everybody,

This is my first review I've ever really done for anything. I'm always the one to read them and see if whatever I'm buying is good enough, I never thought I'd take the time to write one. But for this series, I HAD to.

I've been reading a lot of Sci-Fi and Fantasy lately, so I was looking around when I came across this series. I figured the first book was only a dollar, so even if I didn't like it, it would still keep me busy. Well I'm a fast reader, and I managed to read the first two books in one day, this series has completely blown away all my expectations in every way. I really like this author, and these books. Which to me, was somewhat of a surprise considering I never read any vampire books.

I can't wait for the next one in the series.

We get to see Lissa at her best - when she's on her own. No blackmailing werewolves, no overbearing vampires, no conniving humans. We see how powerful of a vampire she really is, and a glimpse at what she's going to be. At first I was a bit concerned that Connie was mixing sci-fi in her fantasy, but other than the mention of space travel there was nothing to worry about. I was a little disappointed in the Jovana vs. Lissa confrontation though, I was expecting more of a fight. It seemed like a railroaded excuse to get Lissa back into the fold. Hopefully the next book explains more on why Lissa did that, and why she forgave so fast, or if she really has.

I've edited this last section of my review. After reading the series again I think my criticism no longer applies with this book, and the next book is even better.
