Biographie de l'auteur

As far back as he can remember Matt Harrigan has been fascinated by how the body functions, moves, and adapts to the world around us and to the stresses we apply to it. Challenging his physical body has always been some what of a hobby for Matt, be it through sports, exercise, or self-imposed competition. In 1989 he set out by himself on a bicycle and rode across the United States. The journey took him from New York south to Tennessee, then west to Wyoming, north into Canada and finally finishing on Whidbey Island, Washington just north of Seattle. The journey turned out to be much more than a physical one and was equally part a mental and spiritual journey for him. Living in Seattle he first came across the idea of chi while studying Aikido (or Ki as the Japanese refer to body energy). Then several years later while living above his in-law's acupuncture center he read about the 24-hour cycle of chi in a book about the Chinese exercise of Chi Kung. This lead to development of the Chi Watch, then 24/7 Chi iPhone app and now his first book Body Energy - Unlock The Secrets Of The Chinese Body Energy Clock. Matt is currently pursuing his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree with plans to graduate in the Spring of 2014. Matt and his wife Ruth have 4 children, are hobby beekeepers. Being a two time cancer survivor, with a book on the subject (Killing Cancer by L. J. Martin), I can tell you that oft times the old ways are the best ways, and this book deals with ways almost as old as time. When conventional treatments caused horrible side effects, I went to Chinese herbs and had excellent results without side effects. Don't underestimate the old ways until you try them...and read this book.

I like this book. I have been a behavioral science doctor for over 31-years and have studied acupressure, chi kung (qi gong), yoga, tai chi, breathing exercises and Japanese meridian stretches (makko-ho)extensively. The author is right on in his descriptions and information. Well worth reading and truly enlightening

I really really like this book. Everything stated in it makes perfect sense... How we are all always so tired and sluggish, sickly, stressed, etc. and how we can keep the body in tune with nature (how we are anatomically designed) and the importance of doing so. Thank you for sharing this information. It is an eye opener. and I must say, we can never argue with ancient Chinese practice. To everyone reading this review, do not think twice.. get a copy because it is totally worth it.

A friend suggested this book because I was dealing with bouts of insomnia. I was a bit of a naysayer at first, preferring caffeine to the study of body energy, but this book won me over. It has lots of useful information about how to live with more energy and more in tune with your daily energy cycle. The book has simple exercises and stretches that are very easy to practice at home. A lot of it might seem like common sense, but as we all know "common sense is not so common." My sleep patterns have greatly improved since incorporating the principles of the Chinese Body Energy Clock.
