Présentation de l'éditeur

WARNING: This is not the actual book The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. Do not buy this Review if you are looking for a full copy of this great book. This review of The Fault in Our Stars presents a comprehensive overview of the book's powerful themes and surprising plot, while offering in-depth character analysis. Relatable, intelligently written teenage characters caught between love and death are what set The Fault in Our Stars apart from formulaic love stories. Supplement your reading with this knowledgeable exploration of the book's characters, symbolism, use of humor, and writing style. Learn more about John Green's critically acclaimed past works while you discover his inspiration for this bestselling novel that appeals to readers beyond the young adult genre. Well-drawn characters in a complex, emotionally driven plot make The Fault in Our Stars a touching novel that reaches beyond the heartbreaking limits of terminal illness into the realm of eternal love. In The Fault in Our Stars, the fourth novel from award winning YA author John Green, Hazel Lancaster and August Waters are teenagers living with terminal cancer. Follow their relationship as they meet, fall in love, and grapple with life's universal touchstones of love, loss, and meaning. Green's modern twist on a classic tale of star-crossed lovers is reminiscent of Shakespearian tragedy and draws the reader into the story of Hazel and Gus, treating its heavy themes with a mix of both thoughtful and comical writing.

Light hearted and lovely story on such a painful topic. 20 janvier 2014
Par Rachel - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Format Kindle
From the title alone, you know going in that the book is going to break your heart. I whole heartedly expected to start the book and not make in a full chapter, but I found it more refreshing than anything else. The teenaged narration makes so much light of such a heavy, heavy topic. I laughed so much more than I cried.

Great story. I'd recommend.

Review of an Enthralling YA Novel 28 octobre 2013
Par K. Hoffman - Publié sur Amazon.com

This novel may be young adult but it is an enthralling read for any age. Green's ability to convey the emotion as characters find courage through tragedy is outstanding. This literary analysis captures all the important points. It is a valuable tool for discussing a book that would be a worthwhile read for any group.

Great companion 28 octobre 2013

For just $7 I was able to buy the book and this review! Great purchase. I love to read and started a book club at my school, however we are all college students and are sometimes lacking in time. I, on top of college work, have 2 small children at home, as do many of my classmates. This review paired perfectly with the book. Sometimes I found myself reading late at night, doing that thing where you suddenly realize you have no idea what you just read and you start the same page over and over again. After I finished a chapter, I would simple read the chapter in this review and I would know I got the major points.

The story itself is very compelling. I chose it for our book club because it deals with ages similar to most of us (although they are a bit younger, and we do have some older students). Not only that, but I personally lost my mother to cancer, and am very familiar with the emotional roller coaster that accompanies the process. After the first diagnosis, every doctors visit, even check ups, wrack everyones nerves. You never want to hear the cancer is back. And this book does a better job that most at describing these intimate feelings.

The analysis was perfect for launching a discussion in our club. Very helpful, as I was already busy reading, doing homework and taking care of the kids- it was very nice to have a place to start the discussion without too much work.

This one is a must buy for me!

Does a good job of analyzing an okay book 28 octobre 2013
Par Rita S - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Format Kindle
I'm an avid tumblr user, and everywhere you turn, it's like there's always someone singing John Green's praises. After hearing about The Fault in Our Stars for about the thousandth time, I decided to purchase the book and give it a go. The book is okay, but I honestly didn't see why so many people were going wild about it. It's a love story, of course, and a heartbreaking one at that... but I really felt as if I just wasn't getting IT. I purchased this review because I was confident I was missing something 'big', and I wanted to know what it was. The analysis is thorough, and it definitely pointed out a few things that I missed when reading the actual book. It was very interesting to re-read the book, chapter by chapter, and compare it with this analysis as I went. I found that there were times when I wasn't giving the book the attention it deserved, and in turn, I was missing things that would come into play later. In the end, The Fault in Our Stars is just an okay book, but this analysis did a good job of making it just a little more interesting.
