About the author

Dee-Ann LeBlanc (Vancouver, Canada) is the author and co-author of twelve computer books, including several for Coriolis. She develops and teaches courses on Linux, Unix, and other computer-related topics both online and in-person. She has also presented at various computer conferences. Dee-Ann was one of the first to attain a RHCE certification.

Evan Blomquist is a Technical Education Consultant specializing in Free and Open Source software topics such as Linux. Mr. Blomquist's professional computing career began in the mid 1980's and he hasn't left the trenches since. Holding positions from Computer Operator to CEO, he has seen how the information revolution has affected people and business from many angles. In recognizing the many benefits of the Open Source software development model, he has dedicated most of the last decade of his professional career toward the advancement of Open Source and Free software. Mr Blomquist is an active member of the SAIR Linux/GNU Certification Advisory Board and is recognized as the first Linux Certified Instructor (LCI) in the world. In addition to his work in shaping the Linux certification metric, Evan's writing pursuits include; Linux for Dummies 3rd Edition, (IDG Press), and three ILT courses (Viking Systems, Inc.) used for corporate Linux training. When not crusading for the virtues of free software, Evan enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the backroads of the desert southwest.
