Présentation de l'éditeur

This short story for kids is the second book in a series written by Best Selling Author, P. D. Adler, featuring Naughty Nico. These childrens books are written with the early reader in mind and written in a comic book for kids style with an action story and action picture on every page. To make it easier for young children to read,he has written it with illustrations between the text rather than using speech bubbles which makes it easier for early readers to read and comprehend.

Author's Notes: There really isn't a moral or learning experience in this story, it's a story about imagination and I've written this fast paced fun story with kids' imagination in mind. It's a throwback to when I was young and used to dream about people coming here from other planets. I've added plot twists and COLORFUL illustrations and made an entertaining story that will grab the attention of kids, young and old. I'm sure you and your kids will love this book.

  • “The plot is fast paced, the action doesn't stop!"

  • "What I enjoyed most about this book was the twists and turns... This is what keeps kids engaged.."

  • "That delicious suspension of unbelief that happens with a great children's book and a good detective thriller.."

Then your kids will love this beautifully illustrated short story for kids series, "The Adventures of Naughty Nico."

This fun children's picture book series is about a little 8 year old boy with red hair named Nico who always seems to find trouble.

Some call Nico a troublemaker, but he's just an active 8 year old boy who is always looking for fun things to do. Sometimes, these fun things turn into silly adventures.

Even though he gets into trouble, A LOT IT SEEMS, it's fun trouble and he always seem to get out of it one way or another. These adventures are fast action and exciting and I'll bet you can remember either you or someone else that has done some of the same things he's done.

You'll love this book no matter what age you are but mostly if you’re just learning how to read or like to have stories read to you in which you can follow along with the exciting pictures that are on each and every page.

In this story, "The Man From Mars" Nico is at it again. This is a FAST ACTION and adventure story about Nico and his "Eagle Street Gang" of 8 year olds who find themselves searching and chasing a Man from MARS. The boys hear that there is a housing shortage on Mars and they are coming to earth to steal our houses. When the boys find their clubhouse missing, they think the Man from MARS took it. Then they see someone who looks like a Martian and chase him all over town, wanting their clubhouse back. There are a lot of twists and turns, but all ends well. Enjoy this fact action story!

I've read others from the Naughty Nico series and this is by far the best. The story reminded me of when War of the Worlds was dramatized on the radio and people thought it an alien invasion was really happening. Nico and his friends watch a tv show and come to believe that a martian has stolen their clubhouse. The children behave and speak like real children behave and speak. The illustrations and formatting are great on the kindle.

The chauffeur helping the rich kid steal the clubhouse was incredibly unbelievable though. This isn't just an 'adults notice but kids won't' thing. It is enough of a strange and out of character occurrence to cause questions. It is really a small point. Other than some minor typos/missing words which would be caught in a professional publishing, this was a great book and story - definitely my favorite among the Nico books.

This a fun short story. It reminds me in its look of a comic book but has written text between the illustrations rather than speech bubbles so much better for kids learning to read. The illustrations remind me of Denis the Menace (perhaps Naughty Nico is a homage to that title of comics), Family Circus, Richie Rich and other 1950/60s era comics. Also a bit of Enid Blyton in the plot.

The plot is fast paced, the action doesn't stop. It revolves around a lot of mistaken assumptions by the children and other characters where a gang of boys wrongly believe aliens have stolen their clubhouse after watching a War of the Worlds type broadcast on TV. Of course some spoilt rich kid has stolen it but a tired actor walking home is about to get the blame.

The Man from Mars was a fun short story, I'll definitely check out others by this author.

I came across this author after buying one of his other books for my younger brother. I was so impressed by how much he enjoyed the previous book that I knew I would end up buying another at some point and so I decided to try this one for him. Based on his reaction, I can tell he loved it just as much and so I can't possibly be any more satisfied with the purchase than I currently am. The content and writing is well-refined and when I briefly looked over it before giving it to him, I didn't notice any errors with formatting or grammar on the kindle. I will definitely be checking out the other books after this, you can't go wrong with P.D. Adler books

What I enjoyed most about this book was the twists and turns in the plot. This is what keeps kids engaged, they're on the outside looking in, you can almost see them wanting to tell the characters "Hey - I can see what's going on, let me help you!" - that delicious suspension of unbelief that happens with a great children's book. And like a good detective thriller, it never gets old but can be repeated over and over. Thanks!
Definitely recommended.
