Chilton's Vs Haynes 14 septembre 2008
Par BFG - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
This manual is essentially the same book & contents as the Haynes manual. In fact both are owned / published by the same company, and have the same author, M. Subblefield.

This should be conveyed to the public, as there is no reason to buy both.

Good for the Do-It-Yourselfer 16 mai 2008

A good book for the person concerned about the proper care and maintenance
of the 2005-2007 Ford Mustang. So many repair shops (including Dealerships)have poor quality service. This book provides a valuable
reference even if one does not do the work personally.
Some incorrect information. 15 avril 2011

The book is not edited very well, and contains information that differs from the Ford Owner's Guide. For example, in one place the Chilton book refers to the transmissions as a five or six speed for the manual and a four speed for the automatic. When you read the detailed information, you do get the correct information--the manual and automatic are both five speeds. Also, the Chilton says to turn all accessories off when jump-starting the car. The Ford Owner's Guide says to turn the heater on, in order to prevent power surges. Some of the Chilton information is just ridiculous. It says to check the tire pressure every 250 miles or every week, whichever comes first. On a long trip, who is going to stop a couple of times along the way to check the tire pressure? It does have some useful information that is neither in the Ford Owner's Guide nor the Ford Workshop Manual. So it is useful, but just don't rely on everything in the book to be correct.

Fine paper and black and white pictures seems. My dad has been using these books since I was kid. And they've never improve. However, the description and explanation are excellent. If you like to do your car yourself this book is awesome.
But I wouldn't not follow their advice for car care otherwise, you'll end up your life in the grease rather than on the steering wheel. :)
