The mercurial post-punk band Family Fodder are set to release their first long player in over a decade; Classical Music. Originally formed in 1979, Family Fodder emerged, bringing with them traits of psychedelic and new wave influences paired with a focus on improvising and experimenting. Having managed to avoid major exposure they have influenced generations of bands all over the World. Various compilations have been re-issued from the 11 vinyl singles and 3 albums of the early period.
Eerie, spooked, yet oddly modern DIY clatter.
One of the most unpredictable groups from Britain's early 80's post-punk DIY scene, Family Fodder's legend rests on a string of bizarre, enchanting singles and LP's released between 1980 and 1983. They've since re-appeared several times under the auspices of leader Alig Pierce and Classical Music, while patchy, is thier best in a long while - the disquieting toy tunes of "Primeval Pony" and "The Onliest Thing"'s droning faux-strings are both gorgeous, and the lingala and township sounds dotted throughout best Vampire Weekend at their own game.
