But new possibilities emerge in the form of security expert Bennett Tate. Between her connections and his know-how, they're bound to catch the killer - and kick the skeletons out of the closet for good.

En savoir plus sur l'auteur

Hello! And thanks for checking out my books! I've written two mystery novels so far. My first, Dead Locked, is about Imogen Bell who works for a team of underwater archaeologists and ends up embroiled in a deadly treasure hunt. My second mystery, The Jester's Apprentice, is about Philippa, a woman caught between her new husband Edric and his smoky past - and hers.

I've always loved mysteries, even in elementary school. My mother raised me on TV show reruns like Murder, She Wrote, Matlock, and Magnum, P.I, and later I picked up her Agatha Christie addiction.

However, sometimes I just want a hot (but intelligent) guy and a strong woman bantering for pages. Or a gripping action sequence. Or some fun sci-fi/fantasy elements. And sometimes I want it all in the same book. So with mystery as the backbone of my stories, I blend in romance, action, adventure, and soon sci-fi to keep it fresh and exciting.

Why should you take a chance on my books? Well, I write what I'm passionate about, and I'm passionate about people and mysteries. I make my characters passionate too: about each other, about what they're hunting, fixing, or piecing together. Above all, I want my readers to have fun, and leave happy!

I received a copy of Cliffhanger by Amy Saunders in exchange for an honest review. Let me just start by saying I love the cover; it's so cute! The setting is Portside, Rhode Island and our MC is Belinda Kittridge. Belinda doesn't expect to be thrown into a murder mystery, but that is exactly what happens when a classmate ends up dead and someone seems out to get Belinda herself. Is the murder connected with a death of a friend years prior? Belinda meets security expert Bennett Tate to help solve the mystery, and a few sparks fly between the two. But is Belinda safe in Portside, or is a murderer out to get her?

I really enjoyed this story, and had troubles putting it down. Belinda is a fun heroine, someone who comes from money and a well-known name but not a snob by any means. The relationship she has with her twin brother was fun to read about, as well as her friendships in town. The murder-mystery aspect had me on my toes, but sometimes I didn't feel like the characters sensed that urgency, which was only the head scratcher I found. I enjoyed the romance between Belinda and Bennett, and I was excited to learn this is the first in a series. I will look forward to the second book!

Free can have a cliffside downside. Main character is supposedly late 20's, but acts like a teen. They are rich, live in a manse on the sea. Nothing, including the setting, is well-described. No sizzle, no snap, no quirky, no insight, nothing real. Kept falling asleep...finally read the last chapter to find out whodunit...ZZZZZZZ. Deleted from kindle. Didn't delete The Camilla Randall box set from Anne R. Allen which is 99 cents and is worth much more. Lots of sizzle, snap, quirk, descriptive prose, interesting settings. I had much rather spend .99 for a fun read than waste time and energy on a poorly edited sophomoric and soporific one.

The beginning of this book is not too bad. The characters seemed very juvenile for having left school ten years earlier, but I put it down to a typo: two years instead of ten years. This became less interesting as they appeared to be about early twenties, and a little young even for that. As the book went on, the quality of the writing deteriorated. Descriptions of the actions of the characters began to show them as shallow and not clearly delineated. This lost the author a 5-star rating. The quality became very cutesy toward the end, with pages and pages of unnecessary descriptions of the relationship between the heroine and her brother and both of them with the detective. This book may appeal to junior high school students, but I think adults would be not only bored but impatient with the much too prolonged ending. The author lost a second star for inflicting me with my pet peeve: any author who uses the word "smirk" more than two times on a page or six times in the entire book loses a star. No exception.

Someone obviously meant to post a good mystery book, but instead mistakenly sent out their 12 year old daughter's first draft of her creative writing class' summer assignment.

I suggest they hire her a tutor as she will obviously fail the class if she turns in this drivel.

I think this thing was written by 13 year old. Nobody with any life experience would written this. The characters are so immature and just plain ridicules. Obviously the writer did absolutely no research into investigating procedure or man/woman relationship.
