Présentation de l'éditeur

**** Security, book four of the Jack Randall series, is now available. ****

When a prominent lawyer is shot while waiting at a suburban stop sign it sets off a nation-wide manhunt for an elusive killer. Special Agent Jack Randall of the FBI finds himself appointed to track down and stop the shooter. Not by his superiors, but by the killer himself.

As more bodies fall the shooter takes his message to the press, earning the support of the public with his choice of targets and confounding the FBI at every turn. From the desert of Nevada to the urban jungle of New York City, Jack and his team follow the trail of bodies and haunting messages left behind by the killer. With the pressure to find him mounting on Jack, the assassin’s crimes grow bolder, and his message more sinister and closer to home.

It becomes clear to Jack that in order to find the shooter, he may have to look inside his own past, and become the man he was years ago.

CLOSURE is book 1 of the popular Jack Randall series. You can continue to follow Jack and his team in the novels PESTILENCE and SCARCITY, as well as TIME, a collection of short stories following each of the main characters in the first three books. Look for SECURITY, book 4 of the series, scheduled for publication in October of 2014.

Randall Wood is the author of the Popular Jack Randall series. Before becoming a novelist Mr. Wood spent his years in several occupations ranging from Army paratrooper, to Teacher, to Flight Paramedic. Finding time between missions and 911 calls, he would pen short stories about his co-workers featuring the odd locations and strange situations they were called to. Never quite finding his niche, he eventually listened to the little voice in his head and devoted his time to writing full time.

He currently resides in Southwest Florida with his wife Jessica, their three children, one cat, and a soon to arrive but yet to be named Great Dane puppy.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Compelling story but REALLY needs an editor 2 juin 2013

The plot of this book grabs you right from the start. However, I found reading it unenjoyable due to grammatical errors, awkward word choices, hard-to-parse sentence structures, and ambiguous pronoun references. Ultimately I stopped reading. This book seems to have a lot of potential, but it needs a professional editor.

Update: I was drawn back into this one and am really enjoying the story. Normally (as suggested above), I don't read books that are obviously unedited and full of errors -- I find the errors to detract significantly from my reading enjoyment. This one, however, is worth it, which speaks highly of the story and the non-technical aspects of the writing. The book is obviously well-researched and the plot is neatly woven together.

But I will reiterate that this book NEEDS an editor. There are awkward phrases, misused idioms, and huge numbers of cases where the wrong homonym was used (thus passing the spell-check will still being incorrect). The author managed to get sight/site wrong in both directions! With a good editor, this would be a really excellent book.

I received a free review copy of the ebook in exchange for my unbiased review.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 A little of Dexter 25 juillet 2010

At first I thought this was just another vigilante story rip-off, but once I got into it it turned out to be anything but. While it has a little of Dexter in the plot, it quickly moves away from that and becomes a story of the broken justice system and one mans attempt to change it. The author likes to teach the reader and I learned about snipers and explosives and police procedures and emergency medicine the way I learned about submarines from Tom Clancy. Sometimes I thought the detail was a little too much as when he describes a character making a silencer for a pistol, but when I read it again I could see he left out enough to keep it safe. Another point was during the action ending when we stopped for some detail when the story was really rolling along! Grr. But only one page and it sets you up for the ending. The cover confused me until I realized who it was in the picture. Once I saw the blindfold and sword I realized it's the "Lady of Justice" shot on the steps of a courthouse, which makes sense when you read the story. All in all an excellent book, I hope he writes some more.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Exciting and well-written 15 avril 2013

"Closure" proves to be a highly enjoyable story for anyone who enjoys FBI thrillers. The characters are all wonderfully developed throughout the book and not just through the authors short flashbacks, but through the way they interact with each other. The style of the writing, with quick changes from one character's point of view to another gives readers a true visualization of each scene and each perception. Whether it was the author's intent or not, I felt a little like a sniper surveying each scene because of the way the story was written. Two qualms: First, because there were great levels of detail in the book, some of the scenes tended to feel a little drawn out and slowed down the story. Secondly, there were quite a few errors with homonyms and misspellings in the eReader version. It didn't really detract from the story, but it was noticable to me. Other than that, this was a really enjoyable read with a thesis many readers could get behind.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Closure (Jack Randall) 3 octobre 2013

Another story of the broken justice system and one man's attempt to make things right and open people eyes to what happens when we release guilty people because of their status or money to buy their way out. What a good story line and keeps your interest throughout the complete book. I thought it was another sniper book that would be redundant but what a good surprise to find it had real depth through the whole book. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and would recommend it to everyone. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.
I received this book for my honest opinion and hope there are more.

2.0 étoiles sur 5 ... was 449 pages and would have been a much better book had it been around 300-350 20 août 2014

The book was 449 pages and would have been a much better book had it been around 300-350. I liked the premise and parts of the book were very good. But as the book went on it just became a drag I could not wait to finish. I couldn't believe all the good reviews this book received. I really have no desire to read anymore books by Mr. Wood
