We all have a mixture of goals we persist with and some that fall by the wayside.

Commit to Win is a very practical book that will help you understand why you persist with some goals and not others, and how you can increase (or decrease) commitment in areas where you desire that.

The book makes you really contemplate what you are committed to and why. It's filled with examples that are both funny and touching, and will make you see your decisions and the decisions of others in a whole new light.

Dr Reeder also writes a very interesting blog for PsychologyToday.com which is how I've been exposed to her prior writing.

I found this book right around when it hit the shelves after reading about the Commit to Win formula of commitment in a blog entry. I was intrigued at the concept of a formula such as this and ordered the book soonafter.

I just finished reading it now, and through my reading I've marked many many pages that I will return to later. I found it very helpful to understanding both a recent career change and the reasons that led to it (increased troubles, noticing other options), and it's also helped me to look freshly at my current relationship.

As I got towards the end of the book I was already feeling it was a very well done and explorative work, and then I got to the last chapters that guide you on how to go through diffferent directions. If you're trying to figure out how to increase commitment at work, deploy the "All In" approach. If you think it may be time to move along from some situation, perhaps read "Moving On" and evaluate and start the process. Having these "worksheet" chapters to get the ball rolling is a bonus in an already excellent book.

Thank you to the author for the clear and well organized content, a logical approach by which we can understand why our determination may wane at times, and thanks for the understanding you've shared with your readers. Definitely recommend this book and I hope many more people benefit from it as have already.

Awesome read on commitment and committing. The author does an excellent job at explaining the psychology behind commitment! I chose to read after I found it quotes in a health magazine..
