I was very skeptical. I am not a vegetarian myself, and neither is my family. I was simply looking for a way to serve my family something a few nights a week that was healthier. My boys are four and six and appear to be falling into the chicken nugget world of daycare and a busy mommy. With children things need to appear familiar, and these worked. It is an excellent way to get children the fiber and nutrients that so many are missing out on in this fast paced world of backseat dinners. I made the Caribbean Portobello Burgers for my family. My boys didn't even notice. It was very enjoyable knowing I could have a healthy meal with my family without the argument that so many parents face at the dinner table. It was quite enjoyable for myself as well, I intend to use examples from this book to try to better my own health as well. It is a must try for anyone, vegetarian or not, this book offers ideas that can be incorporated into any healthy diet plan.

I bought this book so I could entertain my in-laws because they wanted to tailgate before the ASU/WIs game, and I thought burgers are what are appropriate. So some of my wife's fam are vegan, i am trying to discern if they have special vegan powers like in Scott Pilgram vs. the World. Nonetheless, I used three of the recipes from this book and they were on point.

I'm actually gluten intolerant so I wasn't looking for burger recipes when I found this book. I was looking for some nice vegan patties that I could have with a salad or vegetables. There is such a vast amount of recipes in this book that I have used to make "meatballs" instead of burgers and they were divine. This book has really opened my eyes to different food combinations and made my meals a lot more interesting.

While some of the recipes sound interesting, there are a lot of errors in the recipes. The very first recipe for the vegan burger buns called for baking them at 240 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes. I cannot imagine it cooking in that amount of time. I was very excited about the recipe for carrot and walnut burgers. While carrots are in the list of ingredients, no where in the directions does it tell you what to do with the carrots that you have shredded.

It is a great concept but I think this book needed more editing.

I really liked this book. My kid is a vegetarian and I've been looking for simple things to get her to eat. The recipes were easy and didn't require obscure ingredients. My only issue is the table of contents. Normally I don't care, but this is a "recipe book" and I'd like to navigate around in it. When I clicked on "go to" the only thing showing was the cover, beginning, etc. I "knew" there was a table of contents because I saw it in the sample. It turns out the only way to get to it is by going to the cover and paging forward. The individual recipes are linked to the TOC, but not the navigation pane. It's such a fundamental thing in a recipe book, it's driving me nuts. I finally bookmarked the recipes I liked. The portabello and pineapple burger was great.
