Awesome read! Cool Boss is one-of-a-kind, it is blunt, and shows that the "cool bosses" really have an advantage of the beige. It contains some seriously in-depth explorations of real world examples and case studies from some of the "coolest" business personalities alive today (like Mark Zucherberg).

I highly recommend this book. If you're looking to get ahead and want to lead in exciting and innovative ways, this book is a MUST read!

"Cool Boss" is a helpful and fascinating look at an emerging corporate culture; where CEOs think "outside the box" and steer their companies to greater heights. Those profiled - Steve Jobs, Oprah, and Mark Zuckerberg to name a few - are people who have played a major role in changing the way we live and communicate. What Can Akdeniz has done is highlight the traits and unique styles that have helped them get to the top, and you can apply them to your own career.

My favorite profile was the first one. Jim Sinegal was the CEO of Costco and one of the reasons for his success was that he treated employees well and didn't elevate himself to a rarefied status in the company. If you shop at Costco, you can see the empolyees seem happy and enjoy their jobs. As "Cool Bosses" points out, they have the lowest turnover in retail. As anyone who has worked in retail can attest, that is quite a feat. Akdeniz shows how his non-traditional ways have played such a large part in Costco's success.

I highly recommend "Cool Boss", It's a great source of knowledge and inspiration you can use in your own career and life.

Although i went into this book thinking i was a cool boss, i finished the book realizing i still have room to grow. As it turns out being cool needs to be integrated into your culture across the office, enterprise, or organization. Training folks how to meet your expectations is important but empowering individuals to be great is key to creating an environment that is conducive to netting higher productivity. I'd also concur that innovation is paramount to being cool for nearly every organization or leader....ever heard of a guy named Steve jobs? Definitely a "cool" book for the boss who's looking to change the dynamics of his/her culture with the goal of capturing better, sustainable results from your workforce.

Can Akdeniz can leave you spellbound, but mainly because he has a way with words--he can deeply inspire just by telling stories or anecdotes. So imagine what a jaws-dropping experience it is when Akdeniz tells stories about real-life successful people--in fact, his book, `Cool Boss: Master 11 Qualities of Today's Greatest Leaders', is one shining example of Akdeniz's beguiling power--his breadth of knowledge and depth of wisdom are powerful elements that make this book utterly special.

Basically, `Cool Boss' is a book about business--or to be more specific, a book about running a business in a "cool" way, in careful consideration of the fast-changing circumstances of today's world. There is something so compelling about the way highly successful people live or do things--that's why this book can hold your attention and keep you turning the pages as if it's a suspense thriller. For example, I have always admired Richard Branson's rise from rags to riches, starting with a small store in the UK and progressing to become one of the world's most influential (yet still "cool") business magnates. His business and personal gimmicks have been a tremendous source of fascination for me--now, `Cool Boss' educates me about the fact that Branson isn't the only one who walks and talks that way--there is Zappos's Tony Hsieh, who always made it a point to find the best employees and further empower them, or SAS's Jim Goodnight, whose radical innovation in changing the structure of the workplace is so "against the grain" of common wisdom, it made me shake my head in sheer admiration.

Not only that, the morsels of invaluable business wisdom you'll pick up throughout the book are staggeringly life-changing--many managers today, for instance, seem unaware of the fine line of difference between controlling and enabling, and often while reading the book I'd chuckle and think about all the bad management practices I've endured and how the world would have been a much better place (or workplace) if the people who run businesses are as enlightened as the few who are featured in this book.

And of course, there is Akdeniz's writing--his language is easy to understand, friendly, and highly informative--as if a life coach were sitting right there beside you, telling you about these wonderful things.

Overall, `Cool Boss' opens our eyes and changes the way we regard success in today's business arena. Order a copy of this today and send it as a gift to someone who may need it--a loved one who has just started running their own business, or a friend who has just been promoted to manager, or even students--the stories about how the rich and famous carved their own niche in the world can be deeply inspiring. At the very least, you can imbibe on the things this book teaches--the so-called 11 qualities of the aforementioned highly successful people--and it should help you navigate your own way either as an up-and-rising employee, a manager, or a business owner. I highly recommend!
