About the author
Michael S. Skaff, Ph.D., is a mathematics and computer science professor at the University of Detroit-Mercy. He has published over 35 papers and previously wrote weekly columns for several newspapers. He and his wife live in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. They have three children and three grandchildren.
