Présentation de l'éditeur

The Crushing Low Stakes Poker series is for anyone who:
  • is interested in making a nice side income playing online poker
  • is new to poker or a beginning/intermediate player
  • is looking for solid strategy advice to consistently crush low stakes poker games

Learn How To Crush Low Stakes Games

Most poker books are written by professional poker players who play at the highest stakes. The same goes for most of the video content on poker training sites. Whereas you can learn a lot from studying that material, it won't always be as useful to you when you're mainly playing at the low stakes. Playing low stakes games against beginning and recreational players requires a whole different strategy and approach than playing high stakes games against the best of the best. The Crushing Low Stakes Poker series is focused specifically on low stakes play and teaches you the proper strategy to crush low stakes games.

Volume 2 of the series deals with heads-up play and covers heads-up fundamentals, theory and strategy. We will take a close look at important topics such as hand reading, manipulating ranges and post-flop play on different board textures. We will also cover common playing tendencies of low stakes opponents and how to take advantage of them. Becoming familiar with your opponents' weaknesses and learning how to develop effective counter strategies, will give you the edge you need in low stakes games.

Improve Your Tournament Results

Heads-up skills are essential to achieve good tournament results. There is a significant pay jump in tournaments from second to first prize so mastering heads-up play will make a big difference to your win rate.

Heads-up is not the easiest form of poker. It requires you to play a lot of hands and you will often face difficult post-flop decisions. This book explains heads-up strategy in a practical and easy to follow manner, providing you with the tools you need to master those tough one-on-one poker battles. So whether you play heads-up Sit 'n Gos or multi-player SnGs/tournaments, Crushing Low Stakes Poker Volume 2 will be of value to you.

Includes Push-Fold Charts and Example Hands

Included in the book are push/fold charts for heads-up play. These charts let you make mathematically correct endgame decisions so you can maximize your winnings. Throughout the book you will also find multiple example hands with detailed analysis to illustrate important concepts and strategy.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Excellent follow on to volume 1 24 août 2014
Par Aaron C. Brown - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format:Broché
Volume 1 of Crushing Low Stakes poker is a great way to move up from ABC poker to winning poker. It concentrates on low-stakes ($10 or so buy-in) Sit 'n Gos, which offer opportunities to exercise the basics of winning poker, without the complexities or challenges found at higher stakes. The poker may be easy, but you still need skills like attention, discipline, strategy and bankroll management; and you still need to know how to use appropriate software tools. It's a lot harder to learn these things if you're struggling to master mid stakes poker at the same time.

Volume 2 is a nice half step on the way to higher stakes. It concentrates on heads-up poker, which can mean either heads-up matches, or the final elimination in a tournament (given typical prize distributions, winning the final heads-up portion can be almost as important and getting to the final two). It builds on the skills from volume 1, but now you likely are playing with a somewhat better players, and certainly one who is paying more attention to you. We're still talking low stakes, and if you've followed the author's advice, you're not at a table with the best low stakes player in the world, but you still have to add more detection and deception to your game.

Like the first volume, this book is clear and authoritative. It's short and easy to understand, even for a beginner, although I recommend reading volume 1 first and playing in some Sit 'n Gos until you're a consistent winner, even if your intention is to become a heads up specialist.

Also like volume 1, volume 2 doesn't just tell you how to beat low stakes games, it teaches you why things work. This is extra work you don't need if you're never venturing out of low stakes. Moreover the reason people lose at low stakes poker is not that no one ever told them how to play better, it's either that they don't want to play better, or are not capable of playing better. If either of those two things are your problem, this book will not help. It's not a rah-rah halftime speech to inspire you, it's basic poker knowledge. I recommend this book for people who want to become successful poker players. If you have the will, the author will show you the way.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Loaded with ever ounce of information you would need to win 26 septembre 2014

Wow this book is loaded with information. I have been trying to learn the art of poker playing and I couldn't have found a better author for loads of information. This author really knows what they are talking about.

In this book Turner discussed everything that you would need to know to walk away a winner in a low stakes sit 'n go head up plays. He teaches what heads up sit 'n gos are, why they are popular, the differences between them and other play types such as full ring, how they can be so profitable and how they are played (including the rules, key principles, how to know your hand strength, hand reading, ranges and how to manipulate them, post-flop play explanations including hand strength, board texture and the difference between static boards and volatile boards, etc.). There is also an immense amount of information about strategy including the different uses of both Game Theory Optimal (GTO) and Exploitive Play, and why one is better than the other and how to use both to your advantage. Also the technique of balancing (or giving the opponent as little information as possible about your play) and how you can use it with exploitive play to learn the common tendencies of opponents (such as passiveness, aggressiveness, transparency, etc.). To top off all the information that the author wrote about there are some GREAT appendices including a wonderful terms glossary, hand rankings information, push/fold charts and Sit and Go Endgame System (SAGE).

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Another excellent piece advancing online sit'n'go Strategy 14 mai 2014
Par Elihu Feustel - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format:Format Kindle
In most small Sit'n'go tournaments, the largest jump in prize money is going from second to first place. This volume applies a combination of statistics, gaming theory and hand ranking to stretch your advantage against most low-stakes players. Many of these approaches are heavily dependent on using a HUD with player stats. The methods he teaches make sense, and are compelling. If you already are a decent players and are willing to work and study to improve your game (with a focus on hand-ranking percentages), this book will steer you towards winning more by exploiting the weaknesses and predictability of other players.

If you are playing in online tournaments and are unfamiliar with the concepts this book teaches, you are leaving (or losing) money at the table.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Essential reading for serious poker players 8 avril 2014

Bought the first guide, got the second one. Turner is doing a good job of explaining low stakes poker in easy language. I just want to point out that it's imperative to play poker as much as possible (e.g. daily). That is the only way "program" your brains to think creatively and perform well in a high-stress poker game. Highly recommended.
