Unlike anything else in the world of crystal healing publications 19 septembre 2011
Par Crystal Healer Ashley Leavy - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
Although this book is brief (as was complained about in another review), it is informative and easy to read. The author writes in a humorous, common speech style that makes the science-based portions of the book easy to understand. There is quite a bit of introductory information that sets the stage for explaining how sacred geometry is the language of the universe. Although criticized in other reviews, I found this information to be relevant and well-communicated; it is an important part of understanding the language of crystal grids, and serves the reader well in this context. The information on constructing and using grids was about the same length as the introductory information, but I believe that it is because the author encourages the reader to learn basic concepts and then apply them, rather than spoon-feeding information or common grid set-ups one after another. I also thought this approach served the reader well as using crystals is always more beneficial when the approach is personalized or approached from an intuitive perspective. All in all, I very much enjoyed the book in its entirety and found it to be an invaluable resource as it is unlike anything else in the world of crystal healing publications. Coming from an avid reader on this topic, as well as a crystal healing instructor, I can honestly say that I see myself recommending this book to students for years to come.

Very Basic, nothing you can't read online in a few minutes 29 septembre 2012

I read the whole thing in an hour. I am giving this 2 stars only because there is (a very easy) to understand explanation of how a grid works. All the information can be found online via Google for crystal grids within a few minutes. The author doesn't give much for layouts and in the Kindle addition I purchased, the photos are poor quality and very small.

I've studied and taught grid work for years and I find a lot of her information is how she feels the layout should be. I disagree with her comment that the stones in a grid work better if they are all from the same region. Diversity is a great key component in most situations. I want the stones that best fit the job. If I am looking to connect with the Angels I would want Angelite from Peru, Celestite from Madagascar and Seraphinite from Russia etc.

Another issue in her teaching I found her not wanting to commit to a direction of cleansing her grid. She mentions you can leave it up as long as you like, then maybe a month check on it but then in the next sentences energize it every week but you don't have to, it's how you feel. Don't dwell on it, but think about it. Some may never be taken down. Well, I know my curtains get dusty and my rug needs vacuuming more than once a month. Dust settles even if you keep your grid in a closet, as she suggests in one part. I find you should cleanse your stones especially if you feel that you want to leave this grid up for some time to reboot them. Whether your method is sunlight, moonlight, salt water bathes etc. The author doesn't explain the care of your grid and stones long term at all.

Then there is the lack of grid set up in the book. She suggests a layout for the 12 grids she lightly mentions with only a few (3-4) very basic stones. There is a suggestion of maybe a hexagon, 5 pointed star or a more complicated grid of the flower of life. But she does not mention the exact layout, the quantity of each particular stone etc. All of the work is left up to the reader and would be grid worker. If I buy a book of "How and Why" they work I expect to know the "How to" part.

The last thing I will mention is the constant links to her you tube video and her resources page. Here you find links to wiki pages (free), a link for the international center for Reiki (Which I have to add she mentioned the word Reiki once but did not explain what it is or how to use it with your grid. This would have really confused me if I didn't already know what it was) and a strong 2 pages to buy her 10 page layout book for 19.97. It comes as an enticing link to her own webpage to download 2 "free" templates in a tiny one word "download" accompanied by a large photo (in great quality, unlike her book) linking to purchase the templates package for the additional 19.97. When you click that, takes you to her web store where you can spend your money on her items such as coffee mugs, t-shirts, inquire about special order crystals, her elixirs, her etsy shop and it goes on.

So, if you are interested in reading this I would suggest the Kindle edition. Right now it's 2.99 and a bit overpriced for what you get. I do believe in the author's knowledge of her craft and understanding of how she thinks a grid works. I know 2 stars can be harsh and Amazon reviews get padded by others. I am writing a review based on what I took away from the book and my own opinion. I am not trying to bash an Author whom I feel has much more experience and knowledge than what was put into this project.

I wanted a book I could recommend to my own students and customers. But why would I offer a book that doesn't give strong enough information and leads them to purchase her products? It could have been so much more of a teaching tool and have been on teachers recommended reading lists.

Awesome addition to my resource library!!!!! 15 septembre 2011

I despise science like I despise mosquitoes on a hot summer night. The contents of this book has far exceeded my needs. The science aspect is not overwhelming, rather interesting as to how crystals work and their unison with the universe. The authors personality is evident throughout, which is greatly appreciated.

Please keep in mind this is a practical guide, and not a dissertation. The information supplied is easy to understand, without having to grab an additional book(s) for definition (you know what I'm talking about).

This book can easily serve the needs of all, from experienced crystal healers, spiritualists to persons interested in crystals. An excellent book I plan to purchase as gifts and would gladly recommend without hesitation.

Very well written; the author explains in plain language how crystals have a physical effect on us with practical use in everyday life. Information is based on scientific principles and is presented in a way that everyone can understand. Great book on how to use crystals...

Do yourself a favor and pass on this one. There are so many excellent choices, other than this. 31 décembre 2013

I purchased this hoping for a real in depth exploration of the grid - and only the grid - how to optimize them - what stones to use to maximize specific intentions, how to use the grid to increase effectiveness of the crystal energies, sacred geometry, stone combinations and solid explanations for those choices, and even a bit of science (heaven forbid), etc. I wanted some more information on this single topic. What I got instead is fluff and a lot of "go with your gut, I'm not going to give you the answer" type of thing. Oh sure, information gets leaked in a few places, but you have to catch it as it sails by because the writing is chaotic. Paragraphs leap around or morph into threads unexpectedly. If you are looking for some feel-good casual, "hey, let's get something going with a few rocks" kind of a thing - go for it. If you want some solid thinking instead, with some science and philosophy - search for anything by Katrina Raphaell. Oh, and by the way, this is a pamphlet at the price of a book. But hey, the cover looks great doesn't it?
