When I started to read this download and realized that it took place in outer space I thought that it was just going to be some silly alien slasher which wasn't going to be good at all. But as I started to read more into the story, I was fully drawn in, and I have to admit that I found this story more creepy than many other horror novels that I have read.
STORY - A spacecraft has mysteriously docked without broadcasting its reason for doing so. Usually when this happens, it is a sure sign that something illegal is afoot. Three custom enforcers are sent to the ship to find out what is going on with this ship, but when they arrive, they find the extraordinarily large ship surprisingly deserted. As they start to explore, their sense of unease begins to grow. With doors appearing and disappearing in the seemingly unused ship, the three men start to wonder if they're simply being toyed with by some evil force...
WRITING STYLE - Atmosphere is key in nearly all horror stories, and the author got the perfect atmosphere for this story. Although there are never any jump moments in the download, I felt chills several times while reading, only because of the amazing atmosphere.
The characterization was another perfect aspect of this story; all of the characters have unique personalities and speak to each other with their own perspective.
Endings are something often messed up in horror stories, and the author, yet again, creates a perfect ending that definitely has a twist to it.
I don't think there is really anything to criticize in this story other than the fact that there a few typos, one including mixing up two names (it shouldn't confuse the reader, though).
OVERALL - This was a fantastic space thriller with a hint of sci-fi in it. Like I said earlier, it doesn't have any terrifying jump scenes, but I still highly recommend it to anybody who enjoys a psychological horror story.
