Présentation de l'éditeur

Now that Nara and Ethan are working together to uncover the Corvus’ secrets, they’re confident nothing can stop them.

But while they’ve learned to anticipate dark outside forces gunning for them, neither is prepared for the insidious evil that slithers its way into their lives, nor the new challenges that surface so close to home.

Despite all the chaos and turmoil around them, the one constant they can depend on is their devotion and loyalty to each other. But as their relationship moves into deeper territory, sometimes the toughest battles are the ones waged within.

While the hunt for answers unravels more layers in the Corvus world, they also uncover new truths about themselves and their intricate connection to the powerful raven spirit.

When boundaries are suddenly redrawn and control shifts, Ethan and Nara will be forced to make choices that could bring them closer together or rip them apart forever.

Note: DESIRE is the 4th book in the Brightest Kind of Darkness series (not counting the prequel ETHAN). It is not a stand alone book. It's recommended that you read the previous books before reading this book: ETHAN, BRIGHTEST KIND OF DARKNESS, LUCID and DESTINY. DESIRE isn’t the last book in the Brightest Kind of Darkness series. There will be one more book. DESIRE is an Upper YA/New Adult crossover book. It's best read by readers 16 years and up. See P.T. Michelle's Amazon author page for a detailed listing of the books in the BRIGHTEST KIND OF DARKNESS series.

Excerpt from DESIRE...

Ethan leans over the back of the chair and slowly runs his finger down my cheek, amusement in his gaze. “You’re blushing.”

I smack his hand away. “Am not.”

“It’s adorable.” He chuckles, his lips twisting wickedly.

My hands shake as I clutch the book. “If you don’t stop looking at me like that, we’ll never get this done.”

He straightens and spreads his hands, eyebrows raised in innocence. “Like what?”

“Like you—”

“Want to devour you?” Resting his arm on the back of the chair once more, his voice lowers to a toe-curling resonance. “I do. Very much, Sunshine.”

3.0 étoiles sur 5 For the Die-Hard Fan Only- Nothing Really Happens 15 avril 2014
Par The Book Runner - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format:Format Kindle|Achat vérifié
Honestly, only diehard fans are really going to appreciate this one as nothing really happens but Nara and Ethan’s relationship does strengthen and it is romantic they way they are together. I always clarify that I read for romance first, but I do like something to happen in the story. There needs to be some action or adventure. There really is nothing new in this one. Yes, I still enjoyed it, but I probably would have returned it if I had paid much more.

Ethan and Nara have noticed their powers are changing/growing and many new features are shown in this book like Ethan’s wings and Nara’s removable feather that writes in red ink. The archangel Michael and Fate both reveal to Nara that Ethan is THE Corvus and that it is up to her to lead him to accept that. Nara’s mom has no reaction (denial) to seeing Nara’s long gone father and demons possess all kinds of friends and family trying to get to the book. Drystan has a small part in the story as does Lainey and Matt. Ethan’s father is still a jerk and Samson finds out Ethan can play the guitar. See, no plot advancement in this one.

It ends in a sad cliff-hanger, so I recommend reading this one closer to when the next one is released so that it is less aggravating.

This one is for the over 18 reader as there are very descriptive sexual situations in this one and profanity (f-word).

Would I/Did I buy it? Yes (2.99)
Would I read it again? Maybe
Would I recommend it to friends? Yes, New Adult readers.

Essentially nothing happens in this book, and we learn very little. Things happen, like magical psychic connections to Drystan, out of the blue, and glowing lights out of nowhere, and only impact the story marginally. Things are too convenient; Nara's class just happens to be taking a trip to England? Ethan just happens to have an out-of-the-blue flashback that gives him information? Nara's mom qualifies for the worst ever, for essentially giving Nara permission to sleep with Ethan, and then leaving her alone at every possible occasion so she can. Really? Oh, you have a new boyfriend, go on the pill, and have fun? Really, what parent of a teen is like that? There's so much description of gratuitous, boring, non-story-relevant sex in this story, it reads like teen erotica. Furthermore, alternating between two characters' POV's is challenging, and I don't think it was very successful. There were many times when Ethan's POV voice sounded just like Nara. And... doesn't Nara ever have school? What happened to that? Don't know if I'll continue with the series. I feel like some of the reviews are fake, for sure. At least I gave info to support my opinion.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Very short book 9 avril 2014

Let me start off by saying that I love this series. I waited anxiously for the 4th book to come out, and then bought it and read it the day it came out. I was a little disappointed. The print length of the book is only 173 pages, compared to 358 pages from the last book, which made the storyline feel not fully developed. Events happened out of nowhere with little explanation (i.e. hearing Drystan's voice). I just wish the book had been longer so that we could learn more about the Master Corvus and what happened with the Order.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 fill-in? 9 avril 2014

Can't shake the feeling that this book is just a fill-in.
Although I enjoyed reading it, it didn't really bring the story forth. There were no more clues e.g. to the question what Nara might be - the question that ended book 3.

Also it was very short.

So I hope that book 5 will come to a conclusion and wrap the whole story up, because I don't want this series to become another one of those seemingly endless ones...

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Felt ripped off by this one 7 avril 2014

I have been enjoying this series up to this point, but I was pretty disappointed by Desire. There was a very long wait for this book, so it took me a while to get back into the story and the charterers. The book was VERY short, so by the time I was getting into it, it was over.

Nothing really happens in this book. Ethan and Nara get closer and build their relationship. A few things are learned, but they are learned very easily and conveniently. New 'gifts' are introduced with no explanation, and no one really questioning them.

Desire is much steamier them the other books in the series. I was not bothered by this, since I like a little steam in my books, but I can understand why some people would be . I think authors should keep the same 'rating' in their series books, so that parents don't let their kids start a series that they would not be able to finish.

I also was not happy with the ending. I don't want to give too much away, but I was left feeling like it was a set up for a retelling of the third book. There is the makings of a possible Ethan Nara separation and then Nara will be conveniently going on a class trip to London, where Drysten is. This whole books was about the growing and developing of Nara and Ethan's relationship. I have no interest in going back to an angst filled love triangle for the final book. Nara and Ethan and finally in a good place and I want them to stay that way and solve this together, not separately.
