From Library Journal
In a massive expansion of the first edition of this dictionary (LJ 4/1/89), the publisher has increased the number of acronyms and abbreviations from 30,000 to more than 70,000. A new section listing more than 7000 periodical title abbreviations has also been added. In addition to the many new acronyms and abbreviations that have appeared since the earlier edition, many older, obsolete terms or organizational names have been retained so that this and subsequent editions will be a repository of historical engineering terminology. While not intended to replace such long-established comprehensive works as Acronyms, Initialisms, and Abbreviations Dictionary (Gale, annual) or Publications in Engineering (Engineering Information, annual), it does provide a convenient one-volume, subject-specific source for acronyms and abbreviations. Recommended for all engineering collections and for business collections that serve engineering firms.
