This book is your accurate key to unlock the door and to go out of a vicious cycle of dieting. In addition to everything else, don't forget that the Stress is the missing link to Overweight. Without addressing the issue of stress, as say the author, weight will be stuck where it is.

The author, Lianda Ludwig, gave us a lot of valuable experience and knowledge regarding this problem: like stress, because according to the estimations, 75-95% of all diseases are caused or exacerbated by stress (the overweight is a disease); genetics' role in losing weight; dieting and the media, and so on.

However, here at this point, I would like to call your attention at a few questions mentioned by the author in this wonderful book. I will list some of them: What precipitated your weight gain and how your negative thoughts can make you fat? It's not just what you're eating; it's what's eating you. The author here emphasizes a very important fact, that our beliefs and emotions affect our health and have been implicated in causing or exacerbating up to 95% of all diseases! It's obvious that our thoughts and feelings affect our health. In this context we need to pay attention and to the opinion of Louise Hay: The overweight is a result of the need to feel safe, don't be abused, don't be frightened, etc. If we accept and love our self and believe in the life - that will be our best diet.

The goal of this book is also to teach you, that you are not guilty for your diet failure, very important psychological question, to empower you by exposing the myth-information that has kept you locked in a self-imposed diet prison. In that prison, you have given yourself a life-sentence of food deprivation, otherwise known as a lifestyle change.

Finally, something very important i.e. the Rules: Eat when you are hungry; Eat while sitting down; Eat without distractions (no TV, newspaper, no talking); Eat what your body wants; etc, etc.
So, follow these guidelines and suggestions in this book, because it will help you with your stress and health. Make your primary goal about getting healthy. The rest will follow.

I was very excited to see this title and anticipated the author providing her readers with great truths. Instead I immediately found dangerous opinion with no statistical support. I skimmed the book as soon as I purchased it and quickly found easily refutable statements such as an admonition to "eat what your body wants" along with the opinion that if you eat something just because it is healthy for you, but you don't like the item, your body will not digest it. Hogwash and dangerous. Feeding your cravings is a dangerous activity for many people. Further along I found other similar statements mostly where nutritional "advice" is presented. While the author admits she is not a nutrition expert she does provide nutritional advice which is unsupported by fact.

On the other hand much of the book offers good content. I recommend taking the nutritional advice as of little value and the psychology along with traditional advice as worthy of further understanding. A good friend and fellow nutrition practitioner calls it "pulling on threads" and this book is valuable for that purpose. I do recommend this as a part of your healthy library and encourage the reader to do their own research and never take any one source, including me, as a supreme and final authority worthy of singular trust.

Because we are different does not mean our problems and life challenges are not similar. So while this book may be written by woman for women, the life lessons Lianda describes are equally applicable to men, overweight and overworked or just simply overworked. Stress doesn't exist, and have severe consequences, for either women "or" men so this book has golden nuggets that apply equally to both women and men. This book is a must read.

A very good read and it let me know that some of the things I had being thinking were on the right track. I am hoping that in learning to deal with stress and learning to love my body in this moment will allow me to release all the weight my body thought it needed to protect me. I am really tired of not feeling good enough and not liking my body image, I am ready to move onto a more loving way of living .

The author makes some very good points about body image, the junk science used by the diet industry, and the wishful thinking that serial dieters engage in.

Unfortunately, the book engages in much of the same failure of logic and science. The author (correctly, in my view) calls out many diet industry fallacies, but then proposes "solutions" with no more evidence than the industry presents. The author (again correctly) calls out the diet industry for its failure to understand cause and effect in obesity and disease - and then ignores the readily apparent correlations and the implication that SOMETHING causes both.

I read this hoping for a strong rebuttal to the way the diet industry victimizes all of us, and particularly obese women. Instead, the work feels as though it is half done. The author needs to work on persuasive argument and supporting evidence.
