Présentation de l'éditeur

WARNING: If you don't like leading males that are possessive pr**ks, Dominic is NOT for you. If you don't like leading females that are stubborn bi**hes, Dominic is NOT for you. If you don't like characters who have bad tempers, Dominic is NOT for you. Most of all, if you don't like characters who CURSE A LOT and say EXACTLY what they feel and are thinking without sugar coating it then Dominic is REALLY NOT for you.

** Book #1 in the Slater Brothers series. **

After a car accident killed her parents when she was a child, Bronagh Murphy chose to box herself off from people in an effort to keep herself from future hurt. If she doesn't befriend people, talk to them or acknowledge them in any way they leave her alone just like she wants.

When Dominic Slater enters her life, ignoring him is all she has to do to get his attention. Dominic is used to attention, and when he and his brothers move to Dublin, Ireland for family business, he gets nothing but attention. Attention from everyone except the beautiful brunette with a sharp tongue.

Dominic wants Bronagh and the only way he can get to her, is by dragging her from the boxed off corner she has herself trapped in the only way he knows how...by force.

Dominic wants her, and what Dominic wants, Dominic gets.

Wow I have to say I wasn't expecting that. But what a great surprise!!
Brunagh and Dominic are just hilarious, always fighting and calling each other names. But you can literally see the burning passion between them.
But i have to say, they look nothing like high schoolers to me. I wish I had some Slater twins at school when I was there. Would have make it so much more bearable !! :)

That was a great entrance to the Slaters' universe! Well done! Now we're just hooked and imatient for the whole series to be published (and at the same time we are not, knowing that each publication leads to the conclusion of the series too...)

1.0 étoiles sur 5 Review: Dominic by L.A. Casey 13 mai 2014
Par Tori @SmexyBooks - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format:Format Kindle

I'm not really even sure where to start with this book. I read the warning attached to the book claiming there is abundance of cursing, alpha behavior, and OTT drama. However, Ms. Casey fails to inform the reader there is bullying, slut shaming, gratuitous violence, and an emotionally abusive relationship. Oh yes. No matter how many times you giggle during this book, the relationship between the MCs is abusive.

Similar to Jamie McGuire's Beautiful Disaster in the set up-bad boy who illegally fights and is used to getting what he wants meets a good girl who is emotionally cut off from the world and rejects him and his love.

Sadly, it's all down hill from there. We watch as the hero bullies, insults, and sexually assaults the heroine to show her he likes her. Wait, it gets better. His gives voice to his attraction by calling her derogatory names.

Be still my heart.

The heroine is no better. She's belligerent, verbally and physically abusive to him in return. She makes her feelings known repeatedly that she wants nothing to do with him yet after he beats up a boy who she's friends with for the 3rd time she decides to try being his girlfriend because why fight fate. *head desk* . I think what angered me more then anything is his and her family saw nothing wrong with the way they acted. They just brushed it off because that was just the way this couple is, ya know?

No, I don't know. I don't want to know.

I know this review sounds frivolous but it's really not. This book is so anti romance it isn't even funny. If you looking for a how to manual on abusive YA relationships then here you go. If your looking for a YA romance that celebrates young love and healthy relationships then I suggest you skip this one.

2.0 étoiles sur 5 Dissappointing 20 mars 2014

I hate giving books bad reviews, but honestly, I had to struggle to finish this book. The storyline is fine, actually gets better towards the end, and would have been so much better if just the Slater Brothers were involved.

The problem with the book are the female characters, Bronagh and her sister, Branna. They are horrible!! Bronagh is in high school and acts like she is ten years old. She is extremely immature and doesn't think before she verbally assaults everyone who makes her mad. She says hateful, hurtful things with no remorse and then tries to find a way to reason with herself as to why she is right for having said what she did. Bad language doesn't bother me, but Bronagh can't open her mouth without swearing and saying something mean and harmful. On top of that, she's physically violent on an everyday basis. As much as she screams at everyone, she also tries to slap or hit them - or threaten to "kick their arse." The book starts off describing Bronagh as a timid, quiet girl who stays to herself because her parents were killed and she doesn't want to care for anyone and get hurt again. There is no way just the presence of Dominic could cause such a 180 turn around of her emotions. For years she's been silent, now she has to get the last word, loudly and violently. Seriously, how many eighteen year old girls do you know who constantly scream "I hate you" to someone in the middle of school? I bet she says it at least 25 times in this story. Branna assumes she's coming to her sister's rescue on several of occasions, thinking Bronagh is being upset by Dominic. Can you guess how Branna reacts? Yep, the same way as Bronagh by immediately hitting and yelling and never asking a single question. Dominic even has to get stitches one time on his face from Branna attacking him. It was just unbelievably juvenile how they both acted.

Dominic was your typical high school hottie with an attitude. I actually liked his character. Of course, the more Bronagh pushed him away, the more he wanted her. If another guy talked to her or even touched her, he ended up in a fight. Dominic was possessive and sometime over the top, but you expect that behavior from guys. I liked Damien, Dominic's twin, but he's had a really hard time. We get some of his background story, but his book is the last one expected in the series. The other brothers, Ryder, Kane and Alec, are all likeable enough characters as well. (By the way, Branna dates Ryder.)

A number of reviews said this book was funny. I'm afraid I don't think I laughed once. The banter between the characters is not entertaining. It's simply stupid and adolescent. This book could have had potential, but all the drama caused by the girls ruined it to me. Please remember this review is my personal opinion and obviously not the same as everyone else.

Would I recommend this book? No.

Will I read the next book in this series? Nope. Not interested in reliving anything related to Bronagh and Branna.

DOMINIC IS STUNNING!!! I LOVED EVERY WORD! Dominic is what life is all about. Lee got it right. She got every emotion right. The passion flowed from every page and captivated me like never before. Hell, while I was growing up there used to be fights after school each and every day. Lee gave me back a piece of my childhood.
I read a review and thought - My word, Bronagh must be killing Dominic at stages and this is not the case. I swear a man tells me my bottom is fat and I will BS him, too. Half the time there was playful bantering going on between them that will make you laugh out loud.
This book is filled to the brim with characters that will crawl so deep into your heart, you start praying a quarter into the book that Lee is already nearly done with the next, and you hope to God there will be many more.
I laughed. I hated. I cringed. I oohed and aahed. Lee had me from the first word and I was sitting with tissues at the end, feeling sad for a specific Slater brother. I want him back soon, Lee!!!
This wasn’t your normal love story where Dominic and Bronagh had an insta love for each other – oh hell no! Bronagh didn’t want anyone close to her, for fear that she might lose them. And Dominic – well, what Dominic wants, Dominic gets, but the only attention he could get from Bronagh was when he drove her mental. There is a fine line between love and hate.
Let’s get this straight. A preview mentions men hitting women and it being acceptable – this isn’t true. Read the book and see for yourself how that situation turns out…..
Five stars aren't enough. A zillion kick-ass stars for Lee. I love your book, babe! Thank you for taking me on a journey of a life time. Hurry up with Alec ;)
"A few times I just stopped to look around at the faces of the people who had all done what I thought was impossible; they had set up camp in my heart and wouldn't leave no matter what. It was the best feeling in the world."
It is the best feeling in the world when you read a book and see a character grow, you see her grow from being a lonely girl to having a family, having it all. Not many people have that nowadays. It was a heartwarming story, about loyalty, family, and trust.
This is a shoutout to the one stars – You are allowed to read a snippet of every book before YOU choose to buy it. YOU make that choice. At least have the decency to not verbally attack the author. If you didn’t like the book you can just say it wasn’t to your liking, but to say someone’s work is #$#@ (I had to censor myself there), is downright rude. Everybody has different taste that is what makes this world so exciting – respect other people and at least have some decency to not attack the author.
Now with that said, I would recommend this book. I will read it again and again. It’s in my top 5.
Did I mention I loved it? Lee get a move on!!!

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Amazing Read! So unexpected! I want book two already! 17 mars 2014

*Due to Amazon posting guidelines, I have shortened my review to make regulations*

Dominic was a nice interlude to kick off the stories of the Slater brothers, all FIVE of them, and their relationships with their women and trying to take hold of their pasts.

Dominic tells the story of two individuals at a crossroads with life.

Set in the lavish suburbs of Ireland, we meet one feisty Irish gal and one American underground fighter looking to have a fresh start.

Bronagh (pronounced “Bro-nah” my fellow non-Irish friends) Murphy, lost her parents at a very young age which left big sister Branna as her guardian and rock for all extents and purposes. Due to this loss, Bronagh closes herself off and won’t let anyone get close to her with the exception of big sis.

She meets American transfer students (yes, they are still in high school!) Dominic “Nico” Slater and his twin Damien, and her world is forever shifted upside down. And no, there is no love triangle between her and the two bro’s. There’s other suitor’s vying for the attentions of Bronagh and Nico but no love triangles! Thank god!

Now faced with the only person who can bring her outside of her shell will she succumb to Dominic’s iron will and give him and life a chance? And will Dominic ever win over the girl that is so different from the others and challenges him at every turn?

But with a secret dwindling down that threatens to tear apart everything and could mean deadly consequences, how will everything turn out?

My verdict: An awesome beginning of what’s to come! L.A. Casey writes quite an explosive beginning to the start of something great!

Dominic, is filled with everything from: love, renewal, anguish, deceit, letting go and giving into second chances!

I wished that book two would have been on Damien, the “nice” twin that Brongah always refers to but sadly his story won’t be till last! How did I know?! Always save the most anticipated stories to the end!

Instead, book two will focus on Alec, one of Dominic and Damien’s older brothers and it looks to be an interesting one!! Especially because Alec is a ******(no spoiler!)!

Then after we have Kane, Ryder, and lastly Damien.

Gosh, I want book two already!!
