Présentation de l'éditeur

Celebrate Christmas with Duck and Goose’s new holiday board book!

Our feathered friends are getting ready for Christmas. The only problem? Goose is more interested in skating, sledding, and making snow angels than in helping Duck decorate their Christmas tree. While Goose has the time of his life in the snow, it seems poor Duck will be left to do all the work. . . .

Tad Hills’s simple text and vivid, expressive illustrations make this sweet, funny little book the perfect stocking stuffer. Preschoolers who loved the bestselling Duck & Goose Find a Pumpkin—or those meeting Duck and Goose for the first time—will be thrilled to own this charming winter tale.

Biographie de l'auteur

Tad Hills is the author and illustrator of two New York Times bestsellers—the ALA-ALSC Notable picture book Duck & Goose (called “expressive and adorable” in a starred review from Kirkus Reviews) and Duck, Duck, Goose. His Duck and Goose board books include the ALA Notable Book What’s Up, Duck?: A Book of Opposites, which Oprah.com called an “engaging concept board book,” and the Indie Bestseller Duck & Goose Find a Pumpkin. Tad Hills is also the author/illustrator of How Rocket Learned to Read. He lives in Brooklyn, New York.

Share Christmas with Duck & Goose 23 octobre 2010
Par Library Lady - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Cartonné
Duck and Goose are back again, and this time Goose is trying hard to enjoy the winter weather! Goose wants to catch snowflakes, make snow angels, sled, and more, but Duck keeps telling him, "It's not time". Well then, just what time is it for?! That question is answered on the last page (and well, on the cover too!). Very simple text coupled with Hills' adorable feathery fowl, and you have a splendid holiday treat to share with your toddler. They will love to pour over the pages again and again, simply to take joy in the friendship that is Duck & Goose.

Has nothing to do with Christmas 11 décembre 2012
Par Sarg - Publié sur Amazon.com

I'm very surprised by so many positive reviews for this book. We got it for my 1 year old, hoping to introduce him to things like Santa, Christmas trees, snowmen, raindeer, any if the typical things children associate with Christmas. This book has nothing to do with any of it.

I agree with the other reviewer that the overall tone is negative. There us no story. Each page says "it is not time for -----" (insert winter snow activity). The last page says "it's time for Christmas." We live in an area where there is often snow at Christmas, so I don't see why Christmas time isn't time for snow activities.

Others have mentioned the illustration. It's fine, but VERY simplistic. Each page is duck and goose laying in/standing on snow.

I wish we could return this book but we received it as a gift (I did add it to our wish list after reading all the positive reviews).

Cute Christmas Story, Great Illustrations 11 novembre 2010

I have a 6 month old daughter who LOVES to listen to me read to her. When I read the Duck & Goose books, she smiles and touches the pictures. Hills not only writes the stories, he illustrates the stories, too. He is a very talented children's book author and illustrator. It's Time for Christmas is a cute story about winter activities and what the Christmas season is all about.

Duck and Goose, we love you! 14 décembre 2010

All the little ones on my list are getting this book for Christmas this year!

I have been a fan of Tad Hills since I read his How Rocket Learned to Read (one of my FAVORITE children's books), but this was my first encounter with his Duck and Goose series. The only thing I don't like about them is that I didn't discover them sooner!

Goose is on the loose, making a snow goose, snowballs, snowangels, and sledding, but it's not time for any of that! It's time for Christmas!

Even though I don't have little ones young enough to still ask for board books, I put this one past the 5 year old test and it passed with flying colors! He liked that he could read it himself, and especially loved that Goose was having so much fun in the snow!

I highly recommend ANY Duck & Goose book by Tad Hills - since I read this one, I can't go into a bookstore without picking up some of the other ones, and I love them ALL.

Enjoy!
