Présentation de l'éditeur

The Earth Chronicles series, a historical and archaeological adventure into the origins of mankind and planet Earth, began with the publication of the bestselling The 12th Planet. The series is based on the premise that the myths from the world’s earliest civilizations were in fact recollections of actual events and that the gods of ancient peoples were visitors to Earth from another planet--the Anunnaki, inhabitants of the 12th planet. The series’ books include The 12th Planet, The Stairway to Heaven, The Wars of Gods and Men, The Lost Realms, When Time Began, The Cosmic Code, and The End of Days, all products of the author’s unmatched study of the ancient records of Sumer, Babylonia, Assyria, Israel, and Egypt and the civilizations of pre-Columbian America. Unearthing the hidden history of Earth and mankind, the series uses the past to unveil the meaning of the prophesied future. Zecharia Sitchin has created an encyclopedic compendium of the key figures, sites, concepts, and beliefs to provide a unique navigational tool through this entire opus. Entries are coded to indicate at a glance their cultural origin and contain summations, commentaries, and guidance for locating the topics within all of his books, including Genesis Revisited, Divine Encounters, The Lost Book of Enki, The Earth Chronicles Expeditions, and Journeys to the Mythical Past.

Biographie de l'auteur

Zecharia Sitchin (1920-2010), an eminent Orientalist and biblical scholar, was born in Russia and grew up in Palestine, where he acquired a profound knowledge of modern and ancient Hebrew, other Semitic and European languages, the Old Testament, and the history and archaeology of the Near East. A graduate of the University of London with a degree in economic history, he worked as a journalist and editor in Israel for many years prior to undertaking his life’s work--The Earth Chronicles.
One of the few scholars able to read the clay tablets and interpret ancient Sumerian and Akkadian, Sitchin based The Earth Chronicles series on the texts and pictorial evidence recorded by the ancient civilizations of the Near East. His books have been widely translated, reprinted in paperback editions, converted to Braille for the blind, and featured on radio and television programs.

HASH(0x96c9d444) étoiles sur 5 The key to undertanding the true origin of Mankind and Religion 7 avril 2009
Par Monte Farber & Amy Zerner - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Relié
Zecharia Sitchin, like Albert Einstein, has devoted his life to uncovering a "unified field theory," a single, elegant explanation/equation at the heart of all things and their interactions, in Einstein's case, and in all things related to humanity and its interactions in the case of Sitchin. The difference between them is that Zecharia Sitchin discovered his universal field theory of humanity and even planetary evolution, while Einstein, despite his history-changing theories, died before he could achieve his life's dream.

I am obviously a fan of Sitchin's work and with good reason - it has changed my life. Since childhood I have been sure of few things, but one of them has been that things are often not what people and books tell you they are - most times, you have to discover the truth yourself. Parents, siblings, friends, advertising, school books, teachers - you name it. It's not that they want to lie to you, most of them, it's that they're parroting to you what they were told without questioning whether or not it makes any sense. I've spent my life with my BS detector set on "high" and this has made me a seeker, not a joiner. But this seeker has often had to stop himself from giving up his own writing and publishing life's work - I've got over forty titles on Amazon - and devoting himself totally to helping Zecharia get his work out to a world that so obviously needs it.

You can't know where you are going without knowing where you've come from - if you disagree, then just look at the news to see what I'm talking about. Zecharia Sitchin's universal field theory of humanity could, and for his millions of readers it has, in and of itself, started the peoples of the world on the road to unity. Reading his work explains so much, it makes sense, it feels right, you name it. And it's very entertaining because the story of mankind's creation is the most interesting story in history, no?

Einstein's famously spiritual take on the universe is also similar to Sitchin's painstaking, scientific research in his courageous investigation to find the truth about every sacred cow of religion and spirituality and science without being trampled by them. If you're like me and you don't care what people say about you when you know what you're doing and talking about, then prepare to take the ride of your life: from ignorance to understanding.

Zecharia Sitchin's "12th Planet" series is the greatest detective story ever put down on paper. How I wish I had had "The Earth Chronicles Handbook" all those years ago when my friend Robert Cornog FINALLY convinced me to read Zecharia Sitchin's work. My resistance to reading about "ancient astronaut" theories, based on the numerous works that can't hold a candle to Sitchin's, caused me to waste a year or two of my life in the darkness that not knowing true history keeps the world and its people.

Don't let your natural resistance to the changes that real growth and spiritual wisdom can grace you with keep you from truly enjoying the "inside" knowledge about humanity, the monumental carved stone monuments around the world (and their connection to Jerusalem and the middle east's ceaseless turmoil), and so much more.

Every time I start explaining just a little of what I've learned from Sitchin everyone around me wants to know more and more. So, like the old ads used to say "Be the life of the Party!" Seriously, buy "The Earth Chronicles Handbook" and AT LEAST one of Sitchin's other works, as many as you can afford. If you buy one and read it, you'll buy them all. I give them out as gifts to those I really like and whose intelligence I respect.

And now I've given you the gift of pointing you to where the treasure is. True gold is just waiting for you to open up the treasure chest Zecharia Sitchin has spent his life digging up and cleaning up just for all of us. Enjoy! And thanks, Zecharia!

HASH(0x96df0da4) étoiles sur 5 Earth Chronicles review 11 mai 2009
Par Steve in Tustin - Publié sur Amazon.com

The definitions were thorough, but not tied by reference to any book or page number. There was no concordance type approach to be able to compare and contrast between books or by subject or theme. It was more like a dictionary of terms than a serious research tool. It was disappointing to see so much original, solidly documented evidence go into the book series, yet not into the handbook. I'm still waiting and hopeful that a serious research reference work will be compiled by the author. All the material is there. It merely needs to be indexed properly.

HASH(0x97302714) étoiles sur 5 Earth Chronicles Handbook Useful for Quick Reviews 12 mai 2009
Par Jack Radabaugh - Publié sur Amazon.com

The Earth Chronicles Handbook is a tiny volume as handbooks go. It has a little over 200 pages. I was expecting something more voluminous. For the material it covers it is brief but precise. I needed a quick review of the pyramid wars as well as summaries of Tiamat and Nibiru for a continuing study of probable interplanetary weapons fired from Earth. This brief volume served my needs well. Additional material on solar system interplanetary fighting may be found in the works of Joseph P Farrell.

HASH(0x970860cc) étoiles sur 5 MUST HAVE Companion Guide to the Earth Chronicles... 9 mars 2012
Par Albert J. Valentino - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Relié Achat vérifié
The book is written as a Dictionary/Encyclopedia for the terms used in Sitchin's Earth Chronicle series of books. Anyone that has read, or is reading his books, knows there are hundreds of new terms for the reader which can be extremely difficult to keep track of. I have read three books so far and am working on my 4th and I have almost 20 pages of notes on a yellow pad to help keep track when I decided to pick up this reference book and I am so glad I did to look up the many various terms and names... These get confusing, especially since the same person may have different names depending on whether we are reading the Sumerian name, Akkadian name, Babylonian name, Egyptian name... of the same person; for example, EN.KI, who is also EA and PTAH (in Egyptian), or Noah, aka Utnapishtim in Akkadian, or Ziusudra in Sumerian language/texts. Taking notes AND having this reference book is critical to keeping track or looking up this or that...

The book is extremely well organized, cross referencing terms, and providing the origin of the word; is it a Sumerian (bold text), Akkadian, Canaanite or Hebrew term (Italics), Egyptian (Capital letters)... Also, if the interpretation of something is that of Sitchin, the reference will include 'ZS'.

Also, I highly recommend you get the hardcover version of this book and the Kindle version of the other books!!!! I say this because the font size in the paperbacks is so small that it will dissuade many from finishing the book (at least my my 50+ year old eyes) so the Kindle version lets you adjust the font size making for easy reading and the Kindle version include pictures. However, since this book is a reference book, you need a 'real book' to flip through to look up stuff as you read his others works - this would be a pain in the backside if you had to look up words in the Kindle version while you read. So get the hardcover version. In addition, this reference book is rich in general information like who where the Hittites, Canaanites, and The Adam...

If you are reading the works of Sitchin then you will find this book invaluable.

HASH(0x96e2db70) étoiles sur 5 Not a book, Not what I expected 14 juin 2009
Par M. Burns - Publié sur Amazon.com

When I saw that it was a "comprehensive guide" to the Earth Chronicles series, I thought it was a basically a summarized version of the 7 books maybe with some updated commentary. It's not that at all, it's a simply an index of keywords with definitions and references to other keywords.
So you can look up Enki and get some definition and it will say "see also xxxxx".
Since I don't have the 7 books, it's pretty much useless to me... I'm not sure how useful it would be even if I did
