Sequel to Biochemistry
Chemistry: Book Three

Science major Brad Jergens notices Jordy Fleming at school and at the grocery store where he works, but with the heat Jordy’s boyfriend emits, Brad doesn’t think he stands a chance. When Brad’s parents drag him along on a cruise, he and Jordy literally crash into each other, and the chemistry between them sends sparks flying. Unfortunately, as the weeklong cruise nears an end too quickly, Brad’s left to wonder if their mutual attraction will dissipate on a Caribbean breeze as soon as they return to dry land.

Brad Jergens is a slightly struggling college student majoring in chemistry. He comes from money, but when he blew through an entire semesters funds in just a month, his parents made him get a job to make his own money for extras. So he works at the local supermarket with his best friend, Helen. One day at work one Jordy Fleming drives into his life, and it will never be the same. Jordy is flamboyant, gorgeous and full of life and energy. Everything that Brad thinks he is not. With the Thanksgiving Holiday approaching, Brad invites Helen to go on a family cruise with himself and his parents. No sooner than they board the ship, Helen spots Jordy who is vacationing with his family as well.

Over the week long cruise Brad and Jordy become fast friends and learn a lot about each other. Brad is becoming quite attached, but he's worried what will happen after the cruise. Jordy has opened up to him a lot while on vacation, talking about how his relationship hasn't turned out to be what he thought, or what he wants. With each passing day the two get closer and their relationship moves from friendship to something more passionate. Brad is falling hard and fast for Jordy, but he worries that he will get hurt in the end, that what happens on the cruise, stays on the cruise.

I really enjoyed how Grey took his love for Cruise ships and poured that into this story. The descriptives of the various activities and amenities onboard added an extra element to the story. This could have easily been a Seven Days story (another series by Andrew Grey) as it played out much like those books. The two main characters lives change dramatically and eternally over a period of seven days. And though Helen and the parents were secondary characters, they had a huge impact within the storyline. Brad's mom aggravated me almost to the breaking point, but she found her way in the end. Overall this was just a very sweet story about love on the high sea.

A must read for Andrew Grey fans and those hopeless romantics that really enjoy a heart warming love story with a nice happy ending.

This is an unusual love story in that it takes place on a Caribbean cruise--oh, really, a love story on a cruise? Well, what is different is that quite serendipitously two students of Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, who are mere acquaintances on campus find themselves sailing on this Thanksgiving break outing with their respective families--and nothing happens until, well, no spoilers.

This is a laid-back, sometimes laconic, addition to Andrew Grey's sweetly developed Chemistry series which has some character references and appearances by characters in the first two books--each of which was more angst and action-driven than this one. But what settles the satisfaction for me is not just how it ends, but how it logically gets there--cruising along as in a fog like everyone in these situations tend to do on the high seas, and then jettisoned back into almost brutal reality when you return home.

Hope Grey continues this series--he lives in the town and he brings it to life with the love lives of his characters.

Electrochemistry is the third book in the Chemistry series by Andrew Grey. As with most of Grey’s series, you don’t actually have to read the series in order to enjoy each title. In this case the link is that at least one character has a love of chemistry, and they attend Dickinson college in Carlisle, PA. (Yes, the same Carlisle from the Of Love series… Actually, a few of those eateries show up in the Chemistry series, but again those are little Easter eggs for those who have read the Of Love series. It is not required to enjoy the Electrochemistry series.

This title has a much different feel for me than Organic Chemistry or BioChemistry. Part of that may be because I read instead of listened to it, but the tone is a lot lighter as well. It is a perfect beach read. There was no coming out. No “what will they think?” No “I am going to lose all my friends and family.” It is two guys from the same small college who travel thousands of miles only to hook up while on a cruise ship in the middle of the Carribean. A little out of the realm of likelihood? Sure, but this is fiction. It makes for a fun time.

Brad and Jordy are both very sweet and a little reserved. Well, Brad is reserved. Jordy is a little more open and forward. Pair them with Brad’s best friend Helen, and we have an enjoyable time watching these two lust after each other, and more. Neither character is terribly deep. Neither character has to overcome severe horrors in their past. They are just two normal college students hooking up and looking for the possibility of more.

I know there are going to be a few people that will take issue with a theme in this book. All I ask is that you give it a chance to the end. It will be worth it. If you want a sweet, easy beach read, check out Electrochemistry.

Meet Brad Jergens, a science major in college.
Meet Jordy Fleming, a student at the same college. A person Brad notices from afar but feels he doesn’t stand a chance of being good enough for Jordy.
Brad is cohersed into going on a cruise with his family during the break in school. He asks his best friend. Helen to go with him so he’s assured he’d have somewhat of a good time.
First day on the ship and what do you know, fate happens. He runs, literally, into Jordy.
They hang out together and it looks like they’re getting close. Brad thinks he’s just a ship romance for Jordy.
This was a really fun read. It’s light and has funny parts. The most angst in this book is in Brad’s head.
Where it ended, I hope there will be a sequel or at least they will be in the next book somehow. The romance didn’t have a chance to run that far. The story tells of a nice beginning and I would love to see where this one goes.
I really enjoy Andrew Grey’s writing and I have enjoyed this series. This is a must read for new fans and old fans alike.
