Translating Silence 19 janvier 2001
Par Robert C. Barker - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
It is no accident that Carotenuto continually refers to poets such as Rilke in his discourse. He looks to them, and to all creative minds, to elucidate otherwise impenetrable or unspeakable truths about the human condition, and particularly the pain and confusion often associated with love relationships. He does so with astonishing success. Carotenuto himself writes with the impact of poetry. He is able to articulate Jungian concepts in a way that makes sense to the reader on an intuitive, existential level, and not just an academic one. In chapter after chapter, he explains that the confusion and pain often associated with love relationships -- including betrayal, jealousy, need for power, loss of identity, erotic fantasy -- are born of not merely dysfuntion, but of our longing as human beings for authenticity. I have found no other book, in literature or psychology, that has come close to providing the same quality of psychic relief. That is not to say that the book offers solutions or self-help wisdom. It does not. What it says to the reader is: You are not insane; what you are feeling is universal, and moreover, valuable and necessary. For anyone who is in love or has experienced the loss of a love, this book is an invaluable resource-- something that can be turned to for a sense of stillness. The book is especially geared toward people engaged in creative pursuits who are battling against society's expectation that they adhere to more conventional life paths. Translation: If you are a starving artist, this book is for you too.

Unforgettable 26 avril 2011
Par Nadiya Shah - Publié sur Amazon.com

I have regularly recommended this book to friends and clients. It is one of those rare books that gives insight into relationships and the many lessons love is meant to teach us. Intelligently written and moving. If you are a person who wants to understand your feelings within partnerships, this book is priceless. With a true Jungian approach, it gets to the root and leaves you changed.

Another great Inner City book 23 septembre 2010
Par Ross James Browne - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
Aldo Carotenuto is one of the best authors I've read when it comes to men dealing with fear of the feminine. He uses the concept of Ariadne's thread (from the legend of Theseus and the minotaur) as a euphimism for how the right woman can literally save a man. This book is critical for any man wishing to break free of the uroboros and evolve into a compassionate patriarch who values healthy relationships. Very useful for a man who needs to break free of relationship baggage and learn to love again. I like this kind of dpeth psychology because it deals with the issues of ultimate concern - the stuff that really is important to us. At the end of the day, the political and world historical landscape does not really matter. What matters is our personal life, the people closest to us, and the development of our ability to love and stand by those who love us. Don't worry about politicians - worry about your life, and those who love you, and your ability to love. Aldo Carotenuto will show you how to do that, and find true happiness. He is a brilliant, compassionate, and underrated Jungian scholar. Unconditionally recommended.

while more useful than fromm 26 juin 2006
Par J. Malnar - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché Achat vérifié
in explaining the ungraspable realm of the emotion of love, especially the WHYs and HOWs of it - for instance why do we fall in love with a particual person and why no other can replace that person.. it will help you understand love, jealousy, suffering, fear of loss and all the confusing states we experience while faling in and out of love. it will also help you deal with your own emotions, especially when love turns into suffering, as it inevitably always does. on a downside, for a non-native english speaker author's writing style was really hard to follow.

Amazing Gem of Essays 19 février 2013
Par David - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
This is an amazing little gemstone of essays on the inter reltionship between love and pain, from a Jungian perspective. The essays are short and powerful. I picked this book up for research on character development as a writer. The Secret of Seduction is incredible, but Chapter 8, Fear of Loss and Jealousy blew me away. I am so pleased with this book.
