I've always tried to think of ways to get exercise while at work and the only thing I can ever come up with is walking. This doesn't always work though because I may be too busy to get out of the office or the weather may not be cooperating. But this book has all the answers! With descriptions and pictures for most of the exercises, you can’t mess this up – you can only benefit from following along. Since these exercises can be performed anywhere in an office, I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

I just finished reading another book by this author and this was the companion to it. As a companion piece, I was satisfied with it. I liked the idea behind it, that a significant portion of the world is living a sedentary lifestyle…while they are at work. Some of the movements were very creative, like a leg-lift-pull-your-chair-in combo. There were some shoulder and neck exercises that I tried, right here at my own desk. But there are a considerable number of exercises that need to be performed while sitting or kneeling on a floor. I don’t know what your work space looks like, but I can’t sit on the floor and do exercises without being fairly conspicuous. There were a few more recipes in this book which were interesting, although some were a bit simplistic. The basic idea of the book is so good however, that I am rating it high. If all this book does is make you THINK about moving around more at work, or taking the stairs, or getting up to stretch, of working your abs from a chair…then it is a very worthwhile read.

This one is a game changer for the white-collar workforce. Sitting for way too long will take its toll on the spine, but fortunately, a few exercises here can help reverse that effect. One of the best parts is that most of the exercises are simple enough that you won’t need to put on your gym gear and go at it. Simple subtle movements at the work desk will do. It also covers the full body; there are great work stretches and exercises for the arms, chest, core, and legs - all within your work desk too. For busy people who won’t be able to commit 4-5 gym sessions a week, this book is a great alternative that can help build body fitness.
