4.0 étoiles sur 5 The second part was almost worth a price. 6 mars 2013

The second short fiction/autobiography was brilliant and infinitely fun. Overall, the book is too short to be called so and it would have been very interesting if the author wrote longer stories, especially in the case of her unique and colorful autobiography.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Very short but also very good 24 mai 2011

It's very rare to find extremely short stories that manage to have a very well developed plot that leaves virtually nothing to be critiqued. Laura Lond has managed to do just that, however, with two very short stories that are quite entertaining to read!

The first story has to do with Kian, a young boy who has been raised in a tribe (either African or Native American, I couldn't really tell), but has no knowledge of who is his parents are. This story deals with his (short) quest to discover the truth.

The second story was more like a unique essay, describing in a quirky and entertaining way the process of how authors come up their plots.

There were very few typos in the stories, which is always nice. Also, while the stories were short, they were also extraordinarily well written, another very good aspect of a good writing style. Overall, I'm very pleased with this download, and I recommend it to those who enjoy entertaining short stories.

Both stories are short, yet worth reading. This is one of the finest piece of writing I have read in a while(and I read a lot!). Since these stories are so short, I do not want to put any spoilers here.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Two sweet ultra short stories 29 mai 2011

These are two ultra-short (100 kindle bytes each) and very well written short stories. They are very different.

The first, Fair Price, is about a young man who asks questions about his parents and discovers his destiny.

The second, Writers are Crazy and this Proves it, takes you into the life of an author.

I loved them.

1.0 étoiles sur 5 an idea that goes nowhere 4 juillet 2012

This short story left me flat. There were a couple of grammatical errors ("new" instead of "knew"for one), but otherwise the writing was clear and as effective as it could be, given the fact that the whole story told instead of showed. The premise was interesting, but it was played out in a couple of pages. So much more could have been written to make it engaging. As it was, the reader is spoon-fed the relevant information, history, motivations and hopes, and there is simply no conflict, no resolution of worth, and that's that. I started the second story, but realized I didn't want to read any more of this author. Glad I picked this up for free.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Is what happened a fair price? 15 août 2011

The plot of this short story is somewhat unusual and fascinating. Readers will enjoy the story. Kian has been with the tribe for as long as he can remember. But he seems to be different. All the other children have fathers and mothers, but not him. True, he is treated well by women and men, but none are his father and mother. He asks the tribe's chief who are his father and mother. Readers will find the chief's answer interesting and will wonder if what happened is a fair price.
