Présentation de l'éditeur

Urban Fantasy with a Cyberpunk Twist

***sixth episode of the nine-part serial***
What's your life worth on the open market?
In this gritty urban fantasy, debt collectors take your life energy and give it to someone more "worthy"... all while paying the price with black marks on their souls.

Fallen  is approximately 13,000 words or 52 pages, and is the sixth of nine episodes in the first season of The Debt Collector serial.

Lirium's hopes for escape from Kolek's mob are threatened when Valac seems to be coming unhinged.

Contains mature content and themes.

2014 Semi-Finalist in Science Fiction in the Kindle Book Awards

It is recommended that you start with the first season, but each season is a complete story for that debt collector and can serve as an entry point to the series. There are five planned seasons in the Debt Collector series, the first four each from the perspective of a different debt collector with the fifth season bringing all four together.

Season One - Lirium - COMPLETE
Episodes 1-9: Delirium, Agony, Ecstasy, Broken, Driven, Fallen, Promise, Ruthless, Passion
Season Two - Wraith **available for pre-order** releases 12.15.14
Episodes 10-18: Wraith, Specter, Menace, Temptation, Shattered, Penance, Judgment, Corruption, Atonement

En savoir plus sur l'auteur

Susan Kaye Quinn started out writing middle grade stories like Faery Swap, but managed to publish a bunch of other stories first. She is the author of the bestselling young adult science fiction Mindjack Trilogy, as well as her grown-up SF serial, The Debt Collector. Susan's steampunk romance, The Dharian Affairs trilogy, is her excuse to dress up in corsets and fight with swords. Only now is she getting around to publishing one of her middle grade stories... and hoping her children will forgive her for waiting so long.

Susan grew up in California, got lots of engineering degrees (B.S. Aerospace Engineering, M.S. Mechanical Engineering, Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering), and worked everywhere from NASA to NCAR (National Center for Atmospheric Research). She designed aircraft engines, studied global warming, and held elected office (as a school board member). Now that she writes novels, her business card says "Author and Rocket Scientist," but she mostly sits around in her pajamas in awe that she gets paid to make stuff up.

All her engineering skills do, however, come in handy when dreaming up dangerous mind powers, future dystopian worlds, and slightly plausible steampunk inventions. For her stories, of course. Just ignore that stuff in the basement.

Susan writes from the Chicago suburbs with her three boys, two cats, and one husband. Which, it turns out, is exactly as much as she can handle. You can find her at

5.0 étoiles sur 5 MUST Escape... Before It Is Too Late 21 décembre 2014

This series must be read in order. The first book is Delirium (Debt Collector 1). The second book is Agony (Debt Collector 2). The third book is Ecstasy (Debt Collector 3). The fourth book is Broken (Debt Collector 4). The fifth book is Driven (Debt Collector 5). This is the sixth book.

Lirium is sure that neither he nor Ophelia are long for this world if he keeps defying and challenging Kolek's orders and authority. Well Ophelia MIGHT survive if she cuts her losses as far as he is concerned... And then there is Valac... Is he friend or for? It definitely is a conundrum they must solve(and soon) if they are going to escape the mob with their lives. Not sure who to trust since finding out Candy is the one who fed them to the mob... Lirium feels the walls closing in as he is beset from all sides. Will they ever escape the mob? Or is his obsession with freedom just a fancy way to commit suicide? Will Ophelia even come with him? What does Valac really want with him? Or Ophelia for that matter?

From beginning to end this series is a thrill ride that only gets more intense with every episode! I am always sad when an episode is over because it means there is on less book to read and I am closer to the end :( I can't wait to read Promise (Debt Collector 7) to find out what is next for Lirium! Cyberpunk has never been so addicting! I LOVE this series and can't wait to play the game!!!

***This series is suitable for adult readers

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Make sure you wear sports shoes ... 25 mai 2013

Wow. Every episode in this series has been absolutely awesome, and this one is no different. But I tell you, wear some sports shoes or something, you know, the type that have great grip, and maybe carry an ice axe as well, because I swear, the earth will turn sideways for you in this one, and you'll need some assistance hanging on!

Now, the waiting begins again. I think this is going to be the worst wait yet ... I NEED Episode 7. You know, these life hits are quite addictive ...

This is by far my favorite so far. Coming back to these characters after a few weeks is like coming home to my dysfunctional family. I love Valac, I finally have good feelings about Ophelia, and then Susan throws yet another wrench in the gears.

As soon as I found out this episode was released I immediately bought it and decided it would be my next read. I couldn't wait to find out what would happen and I loved this episode.

There is a really funny scene somewhere at the start of the episode. The whole episode is fast paced and I kept wondering if and how they would escape and then the end. It wasn't what I expected and I was so surpised at the turn the story took and I can't find out what happens next.

This episode is again a turning point in this serial. So much happens and I loved how the characters develop. It's really difficult to say much about this episode without giving much away, but just let me say that this series is really awesome and I can't wait to read what happens next and I keep hoping there will be a happy ending.

To conclude: This episode is awesome, with a great ending. I want the next episode like now! I loved the character development in this episode.

Every episode I fall more in love with this unique world and the characters. This episode could be my favorite, but get ready, it's going to hurt.
