Présentation de l'éditeur

“THE SORCERER’S RING has all the ingredients for an instant success: plots, counterplots, mystery, valiant knights, and blossoming relationships replete with broken hearts, deception and betrayal. It will keep you entertained for hours, and will satisfy all ages. Recommended for the permanent library of all fantasy readers.”
--Books and Movie Reviews, Roberto Mattos

A FATE OF DRAGONS is book #3 in the Bestselling series THE SORCERER'S RING, which begins with Book #1, A QUEST OF HEROES--a FREE download!

A FATE OF DRAGONS (Book #3 in the Sorcerer's Ring) takes us deeper into Thor’s epic journey to becoming a warrior, as he journeys across the Sea of Fire to the dragon’s Isle of Mist. An unforgiving place, home to the most elite warriors of the world, Thor’s powers and abilities deepen as he trains. His friendships deepen, too, as they face adversities together, beyond what they could imagine. But as they find themselves up against unimaginable monsters , The Hundred quickly goes from training session to a matter of life or death. Not all will survive.

Along the way, Thor’s dreams, along with his mysterious encounters with Argon, will continue to plague him, to press him to try to learn more about who he is, who his mother is, and what the source of his powers are. What is his destiny?

Back in the Ring, matters are getting much worse. As Kendrick is imprisoned, Gwendolyn finds it landing on her to try to save him, to save the Ring by bringing down her brother Gareth. She hunts for clues for her father’s murderer along with her brother Godfrey, and along the way, the two of them will become much closer, united in their cause. But Gwendolyn finds herself in mortal danger as she presses too deep, and she may be in over her head.

Gareth attempts to wield the Dynasty Sword and learns what it means to be King, becoming drunk with the abuse of power. He rules ruthlessly, becoming paranoid. As the noose tightens on the king’s assassin, the McClouds attack deeper into the Ring, and King’s Court finds itself in an increasingly precarious position.

Gwendolyn pines for Thor’s return, for them to be together, for their love to blossom. But with powerful forces in their way, it is questionable if that chance will ever come.

Will Thor survive The Hundred? Will King’s Court collapse? Will MacGil’s murderer be found? Will Gwendolyn end up with Thor? And will Thor finally learn the secret of his destiny?

With its sophisticated world-building and characterization, A FATE OF DRAGONS is an epic tale of friends and lovers, of rivals and suitors, of knights and dragons, of intrigues and political machinations, of coming of age, of broken hearts, of deception, ambition and betrayal. It is a tale of honor and courage, of fate and destiny, of sorcery. It is a fantasy that brings us into a world we will never forget, and which will appeal to all ages and genders. It is nearly 70,000 words.

NOTE: In response to reader requests, the book has now been professionally edited and copyedited, and this file version has all the typographical and grammatical errors corrected.

Homonyms. Sounds the same, means entirely different things. Hole, Whole are not the same thing. Sight, Site, Cite are all very different things. Role, Roll totally different. When relying on spell check, or even grammer check, will not catch these errors. That is one of the primary reasons to have an editor. No computer program in exsistence can replace an editor who is able to find these errors and correct them. The other use for an editor is of course to help keep the plot lines and time lines flowing correctly. Case in point; when Thor leaves for his Hundred Days it takes 2 days to reach the port from which the the ship departs, when he returns the sea is visible from the castle, and it takes less than a full day to reach the castle. These things really can affect (not effect) the readers enjoyment of the novel, and may in fact make them less likely to continue to read the series.

More laughable than enjoyable, and it's a shame because the story held promise in books one and two. Fantasy is fiction but it should still follow certain logic. Rice takes everything to such extreme that it just becomes ridiculous. Kids thrown in a red ocean to become monster fodder, (to teach them a lesson) having to win 100 tournaments to be able to wed a slave, (that he had already purchased) please it's all so absurd. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Honestly Mr. RICE should be ashamed of himself for the 2nd &3rd book here. He is milking this for every penny he can get. These books are pathetically short and even what story is here lacks depth and substance. Entire events are skipped just to move time fwd and impossible situations are created to create drama. The main characters do stupid things that make NO SENSE given their personality, background and supposed intelligence. Example w spoiler: The usurper brother who conspires for the thrown, kills the king and then tries to eliminate his rival siblings attempts stupid attacks, in public and when the attempts fail the siblings do NOTHING with the information. No reporting it even though there is an obvious judicial system and those council members despise the usurper and could have him deposed with evidence. The guards, army and castle staff all hate the murdering king and would act against their orders with the evidence but the siblings simply refuse to protect themselves against future attempts to kill them off, don't get protection for their key witness against Gareth (the murdering usurper) and still don't even get a statement from the witness.... it's like they just think "I know our brother is evil and devious and has tried to kill us off and certainly will again if he knows we're ON to his murder but everyone just go home and let's meet up later to expose him and have him arrested".
The MAIN character, Thor, is in the army training but their "training for Knighthood" consists of actually throwing them is a heavily deadly monster infested ocean and by luck IF they survive this they can start their training where even more deadly beasts and warrior will attempt to kill these untrained kids and again, IF THEY HAPPEN TO SURVIVE, they can continue training. The final testing is was so out of character and so thoughtless and stupid I started wondering if a 3rd grader was ghost writing this.... spoiler example: these Knights in training have a code it's better to die with honour than to sink to the enemy level and live. Yet their final test was to STEAL a shelter from a Dragon whose FOOTPRINT is several hundred feet deep... whose teeth are the size of a house! So these KIDS are to STEAL something that doesn't belong to them for no reason given (this shelter is symbolic only, it's not to save a princess or other honorable thing) from a Dragon so big and deadly that no army has or could kill these last several thousand years this TESTING has been going on. You only make it into the Legion and pass the testing if u are, yet again, lucky enough to survive AND STEAL this shelter which has obviously never been taken before but miraculously KIDS pass the test every year and the Legion is centuries old. wow I say...gizmo jumps the shark on a skateboard in this book.
Lastly the other main character, the druid magician Argon, who is centuries old and both lives near the castle AND is an advisor to the well loved and honorable previous king as well as one of his trusted 12 council members does NOTHING AND SAYS NOTHING to anyone even though he knew the kings son was going to going to kill his father to take the thrown..... and he still does NOTHING after the king is murdered and the usurper is on the thrown.... but the author offers no reason for the glaring plot holes.
I am a voracious reader. I'm not hard to please and read 2 or 3 books a week, especially when they are this short, but this is the most amateurish writing I've seen since I was in 2nd grade. I'm embarrassed I actually paid for this book but I'm more embarrassed for this author that he has no problem being so lazy in his writing and offering his fans so little for their hard earned money.

I found the inconsistencies in this book completely distract me from the story and having any enjoyment. They have a rule that you have to be married by 25, yet went a woman agrees to marry a character still has to compete in a tournament to win her hand. Then a few chapters later a character wins a 100 day tournament. How did a tournament to win one woman's hand take 100 days? This doesn't make sense with the laws of the land in the book. How does a dragon leave giant canyon like footprint and a group of boys inside said canyon dodge the dragon? Wouldn't the dragon just step into its own footprint again and squish everyone into goo?

The first two books were pretty good, decent plot but a few too many miracles occuring to save the day. All the characters are archetypes, a Sir Galahad type, an evil mother type, a gay devious conniving prince, the beautiful princess that falls for the commoner at a glance, etc etc. But still pretty good for a coming of age story.

The Feast for Dragons is incredible.. that is it is not credible to the reader. A dragon that is so big it's footprint leaves a pit the size of football field, teeth the size of houses, one could go on and on about all the ridiculous actions and descriptions of that test. the author describes a land where one can walk to the boundary in one day yet another kingdom within the land has been ravaging the countryside for three months without anyone reporting it. the land must stretch out in that direction but still.... three months of pillaging and no one bothered to report in? the Macgil kingdom has a brotherhood of elite warriors who are eternally on guard but no one has noticed three months of pillaging. All the enemy leaders are bestial savage stereotypes that the reader is left wondering how they every rose to leadership. I hope Morgan does a complete rewrite of this book. It would take that to allow the series to continue. She certainly has the skill and wordsmithing ability.
I would recommend not wasting the money on this one.
