Présentation de l'éditeur

The First Book in the Growing Pains Trilogy

On the tail-end of her ex-boyfriend crashing through a restraining order and putting her in the hospital, Krista realizes that the only way to effectively escape her past is to put distance between it. She gets her life back on track in San Francisco with a job that has limitless potential.

Unfortunately, to achieve her dreams, she must brave the star of the company; a charming and handsome salesman that isn’t used to the word no. Krista tries to run from him at every turn, but his pull continually sucks her back in; her hesitancy to trust the only thing saving her from being another notch on a bedpost.

Sean never has to try with women. He's the type of guy to jump in with both feet, get bored, and sprint right back out. But when a geeky new hire stumbles through the company, befuddling him with a keen intellect he doesn’t expect, he starts to lose his way. Before he knows it, all his efforts are concentrated around trying to capture the interest of the only woman to run when he tries to deliver a line. As she opens up, so does he, landing him in a terrain as disconcerting as it is invigorating.

Lost and Found is the first book in K.F. Breene's Growing Pain series. The book is not a standalone book and does not end with a HEA but a see the next book, etc. I am not a huge fan of cliffhangers so I was disappointed by the ending. That being said the book was entertaining enough to keep me interested till the end. I do love reading about a flawed hero but I did definitely want to smack this womanizing hero several times. Krista was an awesome character, too bad the hero is too stupid to see that. So if you like flawed heroes and don't mind lack of a HEA then I recommend this book.

1.0 étoiles sur 5 not for me 14 décembre 2013

To be fair, I did not realize this was a continuing series when I started it. It ends abruptly, which is okay - I suppose - if you're planning to continue w/ the series. I am not. Nothing really happens in this story, altho there are a few redeeming scenes that are interesting. But what happens at the end completely ruined it for me. I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just say this story was not for me. :(

1.0 étoiles sur 5 LOST and Found left me LOST! 12 octobre 2013

I found myself preserving to the end thinking it would come together and make sense. It didn't. The story started off with the main character, Krista, being horribly abused by her boyfriend. Somehow, never explained, she starts her new life in another state, confidently starting in a new job. The rest of this story jumps around. She is temporarily assigned to a new job working for womanizer Sean who has a thing for her. The book described Sean's sexual exploits with other women, and Krista's problems avoiding him, getting drunk with her obnoxious friends, speed dating, etc., etc., etc. There is a sequel available. I won't be reading it.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Where's my climax?! 11 octobre 2013

I gave this book 3 stars because I liked the characters...
They had depth and were like and some even lovable...

So I read the book had good flow , liked the story line.....
But NOTHING HAPPENED...I mean nothing...it was like driving down the road in Ohio....completely flat...

Every book needs that moment were something happens and you are wondering will they make it or something exciting... never happened in this book...and then is just sort of stops... no cliff hanger ending... just drops of while one of the characters is talking...

I'm not trying to be harsh I'm a struggling writer myself but I need a climax in my books and I can't be the only one... ;)

1.0 étoiles sur 5 Could have used a good editor. 23 octobre 2013

This was a freebie, thankfully. If I had paid good money for the book, I would be very upset.
For starters, the author could use a good editor. There were many grammar and punctuation errors, including using way too many exclamation points and mixing exclamation points and question marks on the same sentence. She often uses then when she means than. There were many other grammar and punctuation errors.
The shifting point of view between the hero and heroine hindered character development. If the novel had stayed in one point of view per scene, and gone deeper into that point of view, we might understand the character better - like the weird obsession with the coffee cup.
The novel opened with the heroine's ex-boyfriend brutalizing her - even using whips to cut into her skin, but she had no external scars related to the horrid abuse. The novel then jumps to her living in a new town with a new job.
It kind of meanders from there. I realize this is the first novel in a series, but instead of having a conclusion to the story that left the reader wanting more, it just stops - not a good way to end a story - even if it is one in a series.
I believe this was self-published, which is fine, but the author needed to hire a good editor to help her fix the problems with grammar, punctuation, and wrong word usage. A good editor would also help her with going deeper into the point of views and would help her tighten up the writing and building suspense instead of just meandering.
