From School Library Journal
PreSchool-Grade 1-- Written from the perspective of a young kit, this text relates the behavorial and physical changes that take place in a litter from birth to 12 weeks. The excellent-quality, full-color photographs are endearing and will definitely charm young readers. Border and endpaper illustrations also depict the youngsters' development. Although the animals are not shown in their natural habitats, this is, all in all, an enjoyable introductory science book. For a slightly older audience, Lane's The Fox (Dial, 1982) is a handsome title with attractive illustrations and a text that clearly describes behavior patterns.
