An inspirational, uplifting read! 13 février 2013
Par H. HORTON - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
Marlene is an excellent author, very talented at not only writing, but helping the stories of others shine through when they need to. I have VERY much enjoyed her fiction books (such as Light on Fire Island), and this non-fiction one shows her to be a nicely balanced writer who is equally comfortable in both genres.

Always a favorite subject of mine, the stories of the afterlife and "the other side" are not only entertaining, but inspirational.

A Gaze into Heaven 7 février 2013

I love this book! Marlene, in her cleaver way of writing has given me a very uplifting and joyful perspective on the events that can happen to those who's experiences have taken them within the veil between this life and the next through heartfelt testimonials from simple, ordinary folks of the Church all the way up to those in leadership positions of the 19th century LDS Church. Fantastic Book 13 février 2013
Par Kelly - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
Gaze into Heaven is an awesome book for anyone interested in the Spirit World. I admit I have a vested interest in this book, as my wife wrote it. But even if she weren't twisting my arm (I'm kidding) I would have to say this is a great book. I know how hard Marlene worked to research these experiences. She's very meticulous in her research. (She's written many non-fiction LDS books.) These experiences are amazing and gave me a clear idea of what happens when we die. I especially liked the quotes from Church leaders, which helped explain a lot of things. This book increased my faith and testimony and I found it hard to put down--I wanted to keep reading just one more account, and then another. It's a great book and I recommend it highly. (Okay honey, you can let go of my arm now . . .)

What I found interesting 13 mars 2013

In all the accounts recorded and shared not one person said that it hurt to die. Sure, some of the suffered illness or pain leading up to death; but, the actually separation of the spirit from the body didn't hurt. Then, once they were free form their body they were also free from pain.

I also pondered over the work being done in the Spirit World. Most of the people mentioned genealogy information being prepared. Some talked about gardening and building projects. I think, as we become burdened with the necessities of this life, like paying bills, advancing in our careers and such, we loose track of the eternal perspective we once held. Reading these stories helps to bring that perspective back. It reminded me of what is most important.

Because the stories were presented in a respectful way and not in a fanciful, sensational voice the messages that the people brought back with them from the spirit world remain intact and carry weight. If you're curious about the next step in our eternal progression or even if you are fearful of death and/or dying this would be a good book to read.
