God Is! marks the 30th offering from author Littleton, a writer from Columbia, Maryland who specializes in uplifting messages of hope and inspiration, and has been published in Reader's Digest, Chicago Tribune, and Today's Christian Woman. This work is a collection of stories, quotes, anecdotes and passages from Scripture that illustrate the greatness of God and embrace His attributes. Topics include "God Is Love," "God Is Good," "God Is Wise," "God Is Everywhere," and "God Is All-Knowing," to name a few, and each vignette ranges from a few sentences to about one page. Some are humorous, a few are quite poignant, but all are fine choices that illustrate examples of the many attributes ascribed to God. In the "God Is Everywhere" chapter, a quote from Charlotte Carpenter is used on one page that reads as follows, "I searched for God on the highest mountain, in the lowest valley, in the deepest forest; then I found him in the rainbow-hued bubbles on the water with which I scrubbed my kitchen floor." In "God Is Love," Littleton shares a story he once read about a mother whose little boy was watching her peel an onion. When she explained that people, like onions, often have special coverings to keep the insides safe, the boy replied that he knew, and that God's love was like that. "In God Is Holy," Littleton uses a quote from the New King James Version of Exodus 15:11: "Who is like You, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, Fearful in praises, doing wonders?" Easy to read and appreciate, Littleton's book makes an impact with its concise, positive messages.
